HI Ed. Thought Curtis Jones played well against City and has had good reviews throughout. I can't see a future for Woodburn at lfc. He should be starting / half time especially seeing city's team of youth. Having seen him for Wales I rate him highly but do not think he fits klopps system. Don't want Wilson wasted on loans either. Your thoughts on Ben would be appreciated.

{Ed001's Note - he is just a kid, he has plenty of time to learn.}

He came on at half time and looked decent to me. Pressed well and won quite a few tackles which put us on the front foot. He looks like he has gained a bit of strength in his body and as ed said there's plenty of time.

He's only 18 mate, writing him off this early is just daft. Best move for him would be a loan elsewhere because he's not going to get game time with us next season. I think if the lad remains patient, get's regular game time on a loan elsewhere and stays fit then he will have a future at Liverpool. Fingers crossed for the lad.

Over the last 5 years I don't recall anyone coming back better after a loan deal. I am certain one of the Edds said a few seasons ago that liverpool were clueless when loaning out players. Many we going to the wrong clubs and some not even getting game time.

I feel with players like Mbappe, Pulisic and even Trent developing so quickly into first team players most people have forgotten what is normal in the development stage of an 18-19 year old. At 19 Ian Wright was being rejected by Brighton. Silly to write off Woodburn this early.

Think ed2 said recently that liverpool were moving to make the loans work better incl support etc. Or maybe it was ed1.

Anyways problem we have with appraising or academy Stars is that the standard seems to be ready to contribute in first team or bust. Reality is, for all other youth who aren't transcendent talents like Mbappe, the development curve will be slower.

{Ed002's Note - Indeed they are.}

Woodburn isn't suited to Klopp's style of playing, you do make me laugh.

Liverpool think very highly of Woodburn, he is 18 for christ sake! are you expecting him to be starting for a team who are meant to be competing for the title!

it really frustrates me when people write of players who are still very young look at Kane he was jumping loan to loan until an age much higher and he is now arguably one of the most lethal strikers in the world!

Let the youth enjoy their football and stop demanding instant results.

Woodburn is a number 10 playing at a club that doesn't use number 10's. The transition to a deeper midfielder seems to be quite painful for him. Bags of talent, though!

Written off at 18. What is the world coming to.

Just like Aled Jones ☃️.

Wilson came back a better player.

Two seasons ago Woodburn was the wonderkid when he played in the off season. And now he's already being pushed aside. This season it's Curtis Jones's turn to be the next wonderkid, I guess. The club staff is doing the right thing by giving all these young ones their shot to see (even briefly) what they are really like and how much further they need to go. These are all glorified training games that teams need and use to make truckloads of money at the same time, nothing more. It's the journalists who use words like "wonderkid", and then the fans who join in blindly with the exaggerated hyping, which create unrealistic expectations, almost ensuring the "wonderkid" fails.

Thanks Mo! Good job against ManC again 😉. People say Klopp has Pep's number. I think you have it too, LOL.
