Just wanted to say hello all. long time lurker finally getting around to posting from sunny cavan, Ireland. Great site but quite addictive!

Anyways. whilst fighting the slumber last night waiting for the city game I was thinking of players who for one reason or another would be better off in a different position than their own. I am off the opinion that moreno has been awful as a Liverpool left back. given that he seems to survive every transfer window am I the only person that thinks he should be seen as a back up for mane? His attributes seem to be far more suited to a front three role than a back 4 role. Obviously I would rather he was in somebody else's back 4 preferably though?

Hi Torben. I think ed01 mentioned a few years back that the reason Moreno plays in defence is that he was already a failed winger in Spain. Too inconsistent.

{Ed001's Note - that is correct. He was a winger originally but lacked the ability there so was moved back to be a full back.}

No way - he’s too one footed so can’t cut inside and shoot, plus his shooting with his left isn’t as clinical as it needs to be to be a forward. Not to mention that he can’t dribble and beat a man one on one, he one goes one way so he’s too easy to defend against unless he has miles of space to run into.

Thanks for the warm welcome. And just Wow! if the lad is a worse winger than full back I really don't want to see that! Onwards and upwards anyway this season. Hopefully we will have the start we need for the boys to kick on in the second half of the season. Top two finish and a winning cup final would do nicely.

That always made me laugh from Carra, he started out as a midfielder who then went to right back, left back, then ended up as a stand out centre back.
