Seeing a lot of reports on players Liverpool are looking to offload. Ojo, Chirivella, Ings, Origi, Markovic, Mignolet, maybe even Karius and Grujic may be sold. However, I can't imagine anyone wanting to pay the reported £27m for Origi or £14m for Markovic, money for transfers is now absolute pure madness.

Also once I had imagined no one would pay hefty sum that we payed for gaining Benteke's service, but we recouped major part of it, didn't we?

Origi is still young. An international for a good team and he can score goals. 30million euros seems fair to me. I believe Liverpool would except anything over 25mil.

What he needs is to be at a club where he is highly valued. At Liverpool he is a back up player and it was the same thing in Germany.

I think Huddersfield would be a good fit. They need a goal scorer and Origi needs some inspiration. Put a relegation clause in his contract just in case and I can see Origi easily in double figures.

Origi cost us £9m, has a year left on his current contract and the price we are quoting is £27m, that's ridiculous in my opinion. Origi has done nothing to warrant that kind of increase in value. Don't doubt I'd be the first to snap the hand off anyone willing to part with that kind of money for him, I just don't believe that anyone would offer that kind of money for him. He'd be in the £15m-£20m bracket if he is sold.

Kieran, please don't forget the Neymar effect.

If we are being harsh, what has Ward done, at the highest level, to warrant £12.5m?

Neymar, with ridiculous TV money, has essentially doubled the market.

For £27m, read £13/ £14m.

Is Richarlison really worth £50m? Was Siggurdson worth £45m? (sorry, no anti-blue vendetta Ed025, but just the first ones that came to mind! )

Jordan ibe left for 15 mil and only got 1 Premier league goal.

I think £25mil is fair. In today's climate. He's a youngster remember.

I never thought we’d get £12.5m for Danny Ward!

I take your points gents, even if I still can't wrap my head around the levels of inflation for average players.

Ultimately I believe that players are only worth what clubs are willing to pay for them, which is now sadly ridiculous.
As for Neymar and his cost. He generates enough income for PSG through his image and performance that he'll eventually make them a profit, just like Ronaldo did at Madrid.

Hypothetically imagine if Allison over time is worse than Karius, huge difference fees but still the same result, it'll be hard to justify the cost.
Sorry for the rant btw :)
