There's a new video up on you tube for lfc. The rumour is next summer we are buying back sterling for £81 million.
This is why I stick with this site for my information.
Why would someone go through the effort to make such a nonsense video?

{Ed002's Note - Sterling is available to be sold.}

LOL, Sterling is a spoiled brat. No wonder Pep wants rid of him but not sure there will be any takers as he is earning far too much.

Cheers for the info edd2 but I cannot see him coming back to lfc.

{Ed002's Note - I never suggested that there was any chance of that happening.}

It wouldn't surprise me if he ended up somewhere like Spurs/ Arsenal or abroad. As long as it's not Liverpool I'm not fussed, I think we all know he won't be back here though.

Sterling has always struggled with his finishing. it just isn’t good enough IMO.

Unlikeable person with a clown agent. but a very good player! misses a lot of chances but he's still young, Salah sure as hell missed as many if not more at his age. Twenty three goals last year from wide is nothing to be sniffed at. I said weeks ago i'd take him back but like has already been said, very little chance of him ever playing for us again.

Who would pay big money for sterling!? I’m sure he’s available but the guy hasn’t improved since he left us. Still can’t finish his breakfast.

£81m? No thanks. Free transfer? Maybe as bench cover.

Burnt his bridges and wouldn’t get in our matchday sqaud.

He’ll earn a lot of money from football but not a lot of friends 👍.

Newcastle will go for him. Two year loan deal to keep the fans appeased.

He scores a fair few goals for a guy who can't finish. I think ya'll give him too hard of a time. He just needs maturity, he already has the skill. scary to think what the next level of his game looks like.

I read somewhere that he should be one of the top earners at the club and should get paid accordingly. He's on just short of £200k per week and has 2 years left on his contract and wants a raise. He probably can't support his 23 kids.

{Ed001's Note - he doesn't have lots of kids at all.}

Maybe he could go United as they can spend that kind of money and he can continue the downward spiral in his career path: it’s a win : win.

downward spiral after winning the league? yes downward spiral indeed. I get the hate and banter against raheem, but for me he was a kid when he was with us is still a kid now. he is heading into the early - mid 20s now when he is going to mature. I look forward to seeing him take another step forward in his career, he's done pretty well so far for a kid.

Citeh won the league not Sterling.

Sterling has stalled in his performance levels and the early potential has not been realised

Why are Citeh happy to sell him?

They know his value and it is less to them than he thinks he is worth.

Would Sterling replace any of our forward players: I don’t see it myself.

{Ed001's Note - what would Sterling offer to us? Pace? Mane and Salah are quicker and better. He still can't kick a ball properly. He is still too fond of throwing himself to the ground far too easily. Sterling is simply just not good enough to get in the Liverpool side, he was only good enough to get in the City side because they had no pacey options on the right to pick over him. If Guardiola had signed the players he wanted, Sterling would have been straight out of the door. As it was, Pep was happy to get rid of him last summer if there had been anyone willing to pay the price City were asking. Even without a direct replacement. That should tell you something.}

Yep Ed001, it tells us we sold him at the right time.

{Ed001's Note - exactly. Good luck to the lad, but he is the past and should remain that way.}

Absolutely. Can’t think of anyone off the top of my head who has returned and been as good as when they left. Even Fowler and Rush weren’t the same players when they returned.

{Ed001's Note - I can't think of anyone either.}

Running fast appears to be Sterling's sole attribute. Big fuss made of his goalscoring exploits last season, with the likes of De Bruyne and Silva pulling the strings there's plenty of tap-ins to be had.
Sterling showed his level at the World Cup, run fast with the ball, mostly ending up on his backside within a dozen paces, zero goals and zero assists.

Was sterling not suppose to be part of the Sanchez deal to Arsenal? I know they supposedly walked away because of his wage demands but I read somewhere Arsenal want sterling but pep refused point blank.

Mushroom, to answer your question i think Bellamy was better when he came back to us. only 1 i can think of.

Bellamy maybe? But I agree would never want sterling back.

Spot on, Ed. I remember you saying last season, that Pep was done with Sterling which is why he signed Bernardo Silva from Monaco (brilliant player) to play wide and Pep was right. I also remember Arsenal being linked with him last Jan to replace Alexis and Pep said no, of course. If anything, Sterling's disgraceful performance in Russia has proved that he is way past his best. We sold him at the right time and he would not even make our bench right now.

23.) 22 Jul 2018
22 Jul 2018 12:19:58
Raheem didn't make any chances or score any in Russia but he still started every game. His runs cause a lot of problems to opposition defences. I honestly wouldn't swap him for milner today. He is an empty shirt.

Look at mane's finishing compared to sterling.

Quite a schizophrenic post. Job done.

Robblejames83, I agree with you overall BUT what probs. did he cause the opposition, exactly? The guy was making runs BUT he can't shoot, can't dribble one on one, can't pass, has poor decision-making, no goals, no assists, no key passes etc. So how is someone like that with that many "qualities" causing the opposition probs? It is cos he never did. Vs Croatia, Lovren, a CB, shut down Sterling in wide areas. Why? HE WAS NO THREAT to them based on the "qualities" named above. And the fact that Southgate started Sterling in every game in spite of his "empty runs" and lack of end product, shows how poor the England squad was in this area.
