Hello everyone, don't post very often but read everyday.

Quick question for ed002 if your about mate, with the 2022 World Cup being held in December what are they going to do about the Club World Cup as that's also in December?

An whilst I'm here I just want to say thanks to the Ed's an all the posters for making and maintaining such a wonderful site.

{Ed002's Note - There is no decision at this time but it is an issue that is on the agenda to be discussed at a meeting between the "elite" clubs at the end of August. Not specifically the date issue but the proposed expansion being put forward by Infantino.}

Thanks for the quick reply, hope all is well. Just out of curiosity are we one of those “elite” clubs?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

I assume the premier league is going to pause from end of November until December? Would it then extend another month at the end.

{Ed002's Note - I have no ide what you are referring to, sorry.}

{Ed002's Note - Right now there remains no chance of that happening.}

E002, I would be really grateful if you could comment on whether you think that the large financial investments seeming to be being spent by FSG at the moment on the club are directly related to trying to become part of that group (through a sustained period success on the field), before, the breakaway European league happens? (Which I wouldn’t have known anything about if not for you, so thankyou for your insights) . I assume FSG are well aware of the situation and that it would make a significant difference to their financial investment if we are, or are not involved in the future, or is it simply trying to make the club successful? This isn’t in anyway a dig at FSG, just interested in your opinion.

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with that at all. Many of those sides don't earn/spend anything like the amounts the EPL sides do. Bournmouth got just under £125M from broadcasting income alone at the last count - Juventus (a hardly comparable side) got something like £30M less than that, Leganes (a similar level side in Spain) got themselves something like £30M, and so it goes. The English sides are getting the top of the cake's icing financially and are feasting on that. The "elite" sides are based on more considerations than just income. Relationships, morals, standing within the game are all more important and it is not something that will change in the near future for Liverpool - but certailnly we do see other sides move toward involvement - and in the case of one prominent side - stepping aside from it 18 months or so ago. }
