I'm still not a fan of VAR even in super slow mo people have differing opinions on handballs etc but for me the biggest impact it would have in the prem is that it will disadvantage the smaller teams further as the bigger ones spend most of the game in their penalty area. I don't want the prem to end up a total precession with the top teams beating the little ones by cricket scores with 4 penalties. The refs are not great in England but I'd still leave it in their hands.

I agree with that. I like the idea of VAR but things are so subjective which is a big concern. Furthermore, it can take quite a while to come to a decision (as we saw today in the final) is that area needs improving.

I don’t agree.

The other team will only have more penalties if the team has given away penalties.

VAR isn’t generally making incorrect decisions. The difference is that it is highlighting instances where infringements aren’t seen or are more debatable to refs in the moment and clarifying them as penalties.

Personally i think your all missing the major point of how poor the refereeing was at the world cup.

OP, I disagree. VAR does not review everything. In the WC, there are things that VAR is allowed to review like potential fouls in the box that lead to penalties or goals, goals scored or disallowed in real time, and offsides that lead to goals as in, situations that change games. VAR is not allowed to review a tackle in midfield.
VAR is just a replay system that allows the ref to take a look at key incidents (Which are already selected) that they otherwise may not have been able to see in real time. It does not mean it will get it right all the time as that is and has NEVER been the goal or video replay. It is used to get decisions correct for the MOST part however, VAR or not, the decision is made by the ref and no one else.

Therefore, I do not see where smaller teams will be harmed by this provided everyone knows what the ref can use VAR for and what he can't. If there is a penalty for Wolves vs City at the Emptyhad and VAR is used to review it correctly, there is nothing anyone can do about it. The fear here is that the ref uses VAR and sees that it is a penalty and then bottles it. Thais the fear we should all have, IMO.

It doesn't even get decisions right. It got one wrong in the World Cup final why would we want that?

Den, that would help us though when we can’t break down stubborn teams, and i’m sure you won’t complain then ;)

I agree though i’ve never liked VAR and never will. Human error is what makes things "fun"

VAR doesn't make decisions. It's still people that do that bit. And they'll still get it wrong.

I can only assume some responses are from children. Var simply gives the ref the opportunity to review a decision or an incident which he hadn't seen for what ever reason. Var doesn't make decision s, that still rests with the ref. Var resulted in some great decisions in the world Cup, giving core t penalties and cancelling out one that was incorrectly awarded by the ref.

I for one am all for it and will judge the success of var once fully Implemented.

In all fairness though the VAR system is still crap, i’m guessing on the TV we don't get the ALL of the clips they get to see?
Because if we do, sometimes they are from rubbish angles and ridiculous slow motion, hardly any real time clips.
Refs try and stick to their initial decision anyway to not look stupid (which they do if VAR shows they are wrong) and they waste time for nothing.

Also is it really just the ref decision? What about the others watching the replays? Do they not conflict with the ref and confuse him? XD.

It’s something else to blame if we don’t get a result which can only be a plus for the game 👍.
