With Macca saying he thinks we’ll sign butland. What are the Ed’s thoughts on butland?

{Ed002's Note - He is reasonably well thought of but would he want to be number two to Karius?}

Thanks Ed. I personally think he’s a better keeper than Karius so don’t think he’d want to warm the bench.
Preferably ward would be number 2 with butland as first choice (if he signs) then sell migs and loan Karius back to Germany.

I reckon so Johncrow. I guess butland has a lot more experience while still being quite young. Has played lots of big games against utd, City, Chelsea. I like ward but there must be a reason he isn't getting a game.

{Ed002's Note - Last season he let in 9 against Chelsea, 9 against Manchester City and 5 against Mancherster United. But he did keep a clean sheet at Anfield.}

P Hendo I fully get your point mate but just watching them both from the little I seen of Ward mostly at Huddersfield he looked decent
Butland does not seem to have progressed much since he was highly touted a few years ago
Ward needs to push harder to convince Klopp and I think he can do it.

I can’t argue with what you’ve said johncrow. There isn’t a lot of difference from what I’ve seen. But the question is can ward do it consistently at premier league level? If he’s given a shot I’d like to think he’d do very well for us.

And Salah flopped at Chelsea.

Lovren was meant to be replaced soon and now he's a champions league and world cup final cb.

Vvd was a waste of money.

Henderson was nearly swapped for Clint Dempsey.

Milner was a waste of signing on fee and wages. Record holder in the champions league.

Prince, like Butland, Karius has played big games in the PL and CL, something Butland has NEVER done esp. in the CL. Not saying Karius is the answer long term, just saying that saying Butland has played in the same big games in the PL that Karius has while not having played in the CL like Karius has, CANNOT be a basis for him being better than Karius. Facts are facts, man.
