Dear Ed001,
On the very extensive Ed's Football Legends List, I surely hope Franco Baresi is featured.

(I tried searching for a name that should be on it, but 0 results. Is it still accessible and updated here? )

Also,
Growing up with the Italian Invincibles and their fantastic defense line - what was the secret, and what would the modern day equivalent be? Not the general dominance and success, but in terms of fostering great defenders?

{Ed001's Note - he is on there don't worry. The list is on the Man City site as that is the quietest one we have.

The secret was simple, they taught defensive attributes to youngsters, rather than just technique on the ball or flicks and tricks. It is a completely different mindset required, you have to position yourself differently and most coaches and scouts do not even look for those attributes in young players any more.}

Ak, They're all still trying to figure out how to change their usernames from Terry26 and Drogba11, to Aguero10 and Kompany4 👀.

Ed001, which one do you think is better partnership?

1) baresi n costacurta
2) baresi n maldini
3) maldini n nesta.

{Ed001's Note - oooo tough one. I can't remember seeing Maldini and Baresi together in the centre, so I will have to rule out 2 on that basis. I am going to go with 1, but there is very little in it.}

Baresi and "Billy" were really very good. Almost impassable. But I would go with Maldini and Nesta because both were better with the ball at their feet and moved forward with the ball. Both had enough technique to play DM if need be.

Yeah you are right Ed. at that time maldini play as fullbacks alongside mauro tasotti in that great milan team.

{Ed001's Note - I didn't think I had seen him in the centre then, but I didn't watch every game.}

Ed001, do you have any article about the great football team in the past?

1)Pep Barca
2)Dalglish Liverpool
3)Cruyff Ajax
4)Puskas Madrid
5)Early 90 Milan
6)3 title Spain team.

{Ed001's Note - yes mate there is a great teams one: Great Teams Part 1 - Lisbon Lions

I have added your choices to the list of teams to write about.}

AraAy69, That AC Milan back line of Tassotti, Baresi "Billy" Costacurta and Maldini (with Philippo Galli in reserve) is stuff of legends. As for the best Italian partnership, I would pick Nesta/ Canavarro even tho, Nesta/ Maldini was more than tasty.

Great then. I bet you must have a long list of thing to write Ed. excluding any Liv side, if you can pick one great team that you want to see play again, which team would you choose Ed?

{Ed001's Note - I have only seen them in videos so it would be great to have either 1970 Brazil or Cruyff's Holland team that just failed to win the trophy playing now so I could see them live.}
