England played well exceeded expectations and return home heroes
they are now a team the nation can be proud of.

Overall, yes. England were decent. In this game, tho? They were poor and deserved to get beaten by a better team who outworked them, outclassed them esp, in midfield, created more chances and Southgate got his arse handed to him tactically by Dalic, which is not that bad as he will learn from this. Too many mistakes and too many poor performances by Walker (THE WORST), Stones, Sterling, Alli and Lingard, IMO. Hendo also did not have his best game even tho, he was not that bad as he gave away too many balls in midfield. Had it not been for Pinkford, it would have been worse. The better team won, IMO and that is the way it should be.

Can't argue with that BRover, though I think this was by far Hendo's worst game of the tournament and I can barely remember Kane touching the ball. After a good 20 minutes in the first game and a thumping in the next, expectations were high, particularly given the favourable draw. They went further than most thought and can head home proud but understandably disappointed with this performance. Just a shame they have to hang around to play a pointless 3rd place play off. Maybe TAA will get a run.

Those guys that rescued the thai boys from the cave are heroes. England did slightly better than was predicted in a sporting event albeit via an easy run of matches.
Not sure what the hype was really. Played 6, lost 2 and never really wowed the crowds at any point. Good luck, Dejan.

Dele Ali non existent tonight. Really poor.

Not to sound like I’m abusing anyone but am I alone in thinking that Walker is a liability? I’d attack him all day long. I think spurs did themselves a good bit of business selling him. I understand that he was on the team that won the league but he’s definitely the weak spot for man city and England in my opinion.

{Ed0333's Note - that’s a bit harsh stone but your welcome to your opinion. I’d have walker over Clyne and TAA but again it’s all about opinions.

All I can think is I bet Kane wishes he’d squared that ball to Raheem in the first half now. Selfishness will always come back to bite I’m afraid. We did better than expected but let’s be honest we were very lucky with the draw. I’m glad some passion has been restored but fact is we played 2 half decent teams in this World Cup and we lost to them both. Nothing like a good old reality check eh!?

Hi lads is it just me or was harry Kane non existent again. All the pundits have been raging how he will be a national treasure but he done nothing after the panama game j think he scored 2 in open play and 1 of them just hit him on the heel. Maybe I'm looking at things with my red specs on but for me he didn't turn up for the knockouts and we weee to reliant on the other lads to get on the scoresheet just my thoughts.

Kane was non existent as there was no supply. Livren and his CB partner played blinders as did Croatia’s coach. Saw where he could over run England and went for it. He trusted the players to do the job he asked them to do- some points 2nd half they had aback 2! Winning goal Croatia had 3v1 out wide v Trippier and it happened all 2nd half too.
Great coaching and tactics to turn it around.

Let's keep that comment about Walker being a liability for the new season and I'll wager it'll still be in the top three most ridiculous comments by the end of it.

Walker is a liability at centre back. He was at fault for the goal against Tunisia and to an extent, both goals last night.

At right back, He's still one of the best in the Premier League. You can't judge a fish on It's ability to run.

I've never rated Walker that highly personally, switches off to regularly.

MK, I think he was there coz a, he can Play and b, more importantly I believe, he is one of the fastest players in the world. Certainly faster that anyone Croatia had. Walker was sweeping up everything for 40 minutes. Then he got a knock, a minute later he headed a ball and fell in landing coz his leg was done. Should have been subbed there and then. He was almost completely ineffectual after that.

Well I guess I’m wrong. Maybe I am a bit harsh. Sorry.
