I see people are already slating Shaqiri before he has even signed. let's hope he doesn't visis this site. For the fee being reported its good business imo and a decent option to come off the bench when our forwards are tired.

Just got to back him really. He doesn't work very hard but if I put my rose tinted specs on, maybe he is just a back up option in the Salah role, waiting on the shoulder of the last man and coming in off the right onto his left foot.

If Klopp has asked for him, he obviously thinks he can get the best from him so let him have a go. He's earned the right to be trusted.

No one has gotten the best out of him yet. If he was a guaranteed starter I’d be very supportive but as it’s likely from the bench, I can’t see him behaving. I hope I’m wrong, and if he signs I’ll be cheering him on but I’m very worried about dressing room.

I'm worried too, aoe. A big part of our success comes from the squad togetherness. Hopefully he'll grow up under Klopp's guidance.

MK, I too just look upon him as a back up to Salah or Mane. It pushes our youngsters, who are on the periphery, another place down the pecking order, but if Klopp sees something in him that he can work with, one as to respect and support that decision. It's not getting me excited like the day we bought Harry Kewell!

He scored goals and created goals in a very poor side, in a better team with better tactics and coaching surely he will be better. He is a squad player let's not forget, so too have pace, power, shooting ability passing ability and free kicks off the bench is a good option .

I suppose it's a squad game. I'll be supporting him if he signs 100%. Hope we have better players than him coming in though to strengthen our team.

Hailstones, don’t think anybody has really any issue with his talent. He certainly has some flashes but it goes to waste due to a bad attitude or laziness or both. It’s the worry about what effect he will have if he can’t get enough game time. He has a major ego. Perhaps he’s learned a little humility after his disappointing move to stoke but at Munich and inter he wasn’t willing to work hard at all. Why should he do it at Liverpool?

It's been stated quite frequently that Klopp does his homework on the personalities and attitudes of players, and it's been stated even more frequently that Shaqiri appears to have issues with his personality and attitude.

Either Klopp's not done his homework (unlikely but possible), he's seen something in him that he feels he can work with (most likely), or Shaqiri has pulled a great acting job to bluff his way this far (Oscar at the ready) .

Lets not waste the energy worrying about it until he's signed, played and given us an indication one way or another about how it'll pan out.

The overwhelming negativity of all the "what if's" surrounding transfers these days is so in your face that it makes you forget Liverpool are signing someone, which used to be an exciting affair!

Spot on, AOE. Pretty sure that we would all be laughing had any of the top 6 teams signed Shaquiri so how people are bigging him up cos he is signing for us, beggars belief, IMO. His talent is not the prob. it is EVERYTHING else that his newly found fan club, seem to wanna conveniently ignore.

Bayern got shot of him due to his ego and attitude, not cos of his talent. He threw a complete strop in Euros 2016 cos he did not get the capt. armband for Switzerland and said he would do all he could to go play for Kossovo cos "at least, my country would respect me". Really? Is that who people want here? The strength of our team is the togetherness which is the reason the dross like Sahko and Benteke are gone. Their attitude stunk.

Listen if Klopp wants him then fine BUT people need to stop bigging up Shaquiri like he was some great player playing in a crap team. He is NO great player, period. If he was, he would not be playing in a crap team. That is the fact. He is an under-achieving, lazy player with a stinking attitude hence, he is a crap player playing in a crap team. Is he talented? Yes. It is up to Klopp to fix him up and hopefully, he can.

Would be nice to see Gary Neville’s face if shaqiri did sign then scores the winner at OT haha. Not saying it’s a good or bad signing, I can’t say I’ve seen that much of him! 😀😎.
