Hi Ed. I saw the posts about keepers and there's one I always thought of as one of the best ever. I was wondering what's your opinion on Michel Preud'Homme and if you could do a profile on him. Thank you.

{Ed001's Note - I have added him to the legends list as he certainly deserves inclusion. Very good keeper and defo one of the best ever.}

Ed001, was Bert Trautmann a good keeper?

All the oldies I speak to love him but I've only ever heard the "he played with a broken neck unlike these girls" argument. Whilst that is commendable, it doesn't automatically make you a good keeper. Does it?

{Ed001's Note - he was very good though, you have to remember the time he played in, he was a German straight after a war and they were hated. Yet he became a hero because he was a good player.}

Great point about the war Ed001. Hadn't thought of that. Any chance of a legends profile on him because being a German playing in the UK in the 50's, I'm intrigued to know more now.

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, added him to the list.}

Ed001 should be able to get to him around 2025 😂. I feel like we see a new player added every week! Keep em comin lads! Appreciate ya 001.

{Ed001's Note - I think you are being optimistic!}

They were actually talking about him on the football ramble podcast today seems like a very interesting chap.

Speaking of legends profiles, Ed001 would you mind making a profile on the Laudrup brothers? Or if that task is too great, just Michael Laudrup?

Unfortunately I was a bit too young to really remember watching him/ them play, but I know how highly regarded at least Michael is and was as a playmaker (some say he was the very best) and player overall, so would be very interesting with a profile!

And sorry, I know I keep bringing up Denmark. We're such a small country, I guess it's just me trying to overcompensate for it 😂.

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, added Brian, Michael was already there. Btw what is a chimichanga?}

Ever thought of doing profile's of great teams rather than individual players Ed? Granted they would take longer but I for one would be very interested to read about the Denmark 86 or the Holland 74 team for example. You could also include the individual player profile within the team profile. Just a thought.

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, it is already planned. I did one on the Dream Team for the NBA site, to try out the idea, and I intend to do more, though not just football teams for that.}

Cheers man! Looking forward to read both

A chimichanga is some sort of deep-fried burrito, but ultimately it's been my nickname for some years now. I just fitted the profile, please don't ask why - it's not exactly an anecdote for the sore ears! Haha.

{Ed001's Note - oh ok, I keep hearing it mentioned in American TV shows but never got round to looking it up. Glad I didn't look now.}

How long is your list ed01! It must get longer the more you do! They're great though. I'm a much more informed football fan because of them.

I tell you a player I often wonder about. Titi camara. He came to Liverpool, unknown to me and many and had a decent season filling in for our injured strikers. He scored a fair amount of goals and then disappeared. Like pink Floyd after dark side of the moon. Maybe that's where he went? A player profile would be interesting. I really liked him although he wasn't the best he done a job for us and I've always felt grateful for it.

{Ed001's Note - he went off to West Ham after us mate. He is still working in football.}

Yeah I remember him in the prem after us actually. But at that time there were more and more african players in Europe and the name "camara" was very popular. I think there were 3 or 4 camaras in the prem. I'm glad he's still in football

We was shocking in both senses of the word. His 1st touch was awful at times but he shocked me with how often he put the ball in the back of the net. I love an under dog.

{Ed001's Note - I can remember Westerveld putting the ball on his chest with a drop kick time after time and he controlled it beautifully. It was against Leeds I think. Then there was the game against West Ham after his dad died. I liked Titi a lot.}

Not sure Pink Floyd disappeared after Dark Side of the moon though?

Ed01 actually, "Titi" is not even his real name. It's his nickname cos his first name was too long to pronounce. Aboubacar "Titi" Camara was part of the U-17 Guinea team that reached the semi final of the inaugural U-17 WC in. 1985. In Guinea, "Titi" actually means "fast" or "lightning" cos he was that quick and fast for such a big man. He was a brilliant player for both clubs and country as his ability to fuse together size, strength, height, raw skill, speed of thought and movement, made him a physical footballing specimen. He is still remembered in St. Etienne where he made his name before going to Marseille and then, LFC. A true African football legend.

{Ed001's Note - I know it was a nickname mate, I was just saying it because it sounds like titties.}
