Question for Ed001 if your around. a year or so ago im pretty sure you told us Klopp had a plan to faze Henderson out over the next couple years. now with Fabinho coming in it seems this is the first step towards this. i do understand that we need 2 good players for each position, for injuries and rotation etc. I was just wondering your opinion of how hard or easy you think it would be to faze out a captain of your team without causing disruption in the team dynamic, or getting ugly and awkward behind the closed doors.? Henderson does come across as the type of guy that would be hurt by it obviously but also just get on with business and do wat he can to help the team. just after your opinion on this possible change over the next season or 2. other opinions welcome. cheers.

{Ed001's Note - that is not what I said. I said they were going to check on Hendo's long term fitness and make a decision on whether or not to phase him out. So far he seems to be coping well and getting back to fitness, so I doubt it will be needed, fingers crossed.}

Do you think the World Cup has helped or hindered ed?

{Ed001's Note - helped as he has had to prove his fitness by playing games in quick succession. Shows his body is up to it.}

My only concern was Henderson playing twice a week, that shouldn’t have to happen now.

Cheers ed. That’s fantastic. A fit Henderson will be brilliant for us and obviously great for him.

{Ed001's Note - fingers crossed mate.}

While he may lost some pace, a fit Henderson can only add quality to our midfield.

I was watching Eng v Col the other day (i don't usually watch internationals but I had to feed my daughter in the middle of the night so might as well) and a lot of was made of Henderson's lack of touches during the match. Given that I wasn't particularly interested in the outcome of the game, I chose to focus on Henderson throughout.

What I thought the commentators and pundits failed to see was that Henderson was constantly re-positioning himself throughout the game to block passing channels, provide cover, put pressure and offer options for passing. He was also constantly telling others where and when to move, who to cover. So yes, he didn't touch the ball as much, but he kept the midfield compact and alert. And this wasn't even one of his better games.

His influence and contribution to the team, unfortunately, seems to be more significant off-the-ball. And given that most people can only follow the ball during a match, his strengths are severely underappreciated.

A fit Hendo, a level headed Keita and Fabinho behind Mane, Firmino and Salah is bloody frightening for other teams! I just can't wait for the season to start.

I think Hendo will be fine now, as long as he's fit he has to start no matter what because he makes so much of a difference when on the pitch.

I find it funny you know, before the world cup so many people doubted Hendo, now people are finally seeing how good he can be.

Salah, perhaps the lack of star quality in this Eng outfit forces people to look at other attributes and these happen to be Henderson's strengths?

Funnily, I notice some channels appear to be lauding him, for whatever reasons (and these are pundits that have hammered him for years! ) . Shows you that most people don't actually watch or think much about players; they just listen to the 'experts' and form their opinions. And when these 'experts' change their minds, they do too.

Hendo only adds quality to our team and that has always been the case. It is those who watch him with preconceived biases like "he passes sideways, he does not take over a game or he lacks leadership" or the best: "He is no Souness or SG" nonsense, that have issues with him.

Also, Him not having to play twice a week as we already have Fab and Keita in the midfield, will only prolong his LFC career where he can play at full pelt due to the fact that Klopp rotates frequently and it helped us a lot last season and had freak injuries to Ox, Lallana, Can and even Salah in the CL final not happened out of the blue, we would have finished stronger and who knows, pulled of a coup in Kiev.
