If we are sticking with Karius I say bring it on, there is no guarantee the big money keepers would improve our team, what if they don’t settle? What if the increased scrutiny that comes with being our keeper effects them negatively? Our mantra is YNWA yet we want to throw one of our players under the bus? It’s fickle. The lad will be determined to make it up to us and we should give him that chance. All this talk that a keeper can save you 10-15 points, that for me is pulled out of the air and based on De Gea, a keeper who plays for a team/ manager that works on fine margains.
My point is give the lad a chance and he may repay the faith, ederson is no world beater but city won the league as it’s a squad game. Keeping Karius doesn’t automatically mean we won’t be competitive.

i normally back our players but do not think karius should stay. I just do not think he is good enough at all. And its ok people saying you never walk alone but its not like these players aren't earning crazy money, so for me if there not good enough they should go.

Not everybody is wishing any harm to Karius I cerainly don’t but I have seen no real evidence that he is of a standard fitting our needs and desires and I just don’t see how anybody has seen anything that suggests he will. Maybe he has done some things right at times but it has only been at times, I have seen much more uncertainty and mistakes.

I’d rather give him a chance than waste money on a keeper who isn’t a massive improvement.

Faith should have nothing to do with it. This decision should be made on an assessment of his skills. Not 'can be be good enough' but 'is he good enough'?

We've been given plenty of evidence to suggest he's not. By not buying anyone we're potentially wasting another year and I do not want to see posts next summer saying 'we could have won the league of only we'd brought a decent keeper.

We need to be wary as buying a decent keeper doesn't mean he’s guaranteed to replicate his form for Liverpool. If we buy Allison and he has a nervous first season a la De Gea then we may have well kept Karius. With the exception of one match, i don't remember Karius letting the team down with errors and we now have a keeper desperate to improve and showhis doubters they are wrong. 60 million or more is a hell of a lot of money to gamble on a position that is based heavily on the confidence of the player.

The other thing is the club only has a finite amount of money so unless it’s going to drastically improve what we have the investment probably doesn’t make sense. Previously we have brought to improve the bench, when really we should be buying players capable of being first 11, as the players they replace would be benched and this improves the bench. Buying bench or squad players creates complacency.

I would also be quite happy if our keepers were Ward and Karius, Allisson wants Madrid and there aren’t many top class keepers available. But I think Ward may force our hand in search for first team football leaving migs to be replaced.

Newsflash Putney, Klopp sees having faith in his players as a strong point of management. Did he ditch Lovren after the horror show at Spurs where he was taken off in the first half?
Klopp's given several interviews where he stresses that they deal with the human being, not just the player. If he thinks that Karius is mentally strong enough to come back from this then he'll be our number 1 next season, unless he gives Klopp a valid reason not to be.

For the record, Ed002, you spelt Alisson's name wrong! 😆.

Flash, you're falling for the spin there. Where was Klopp's faith when Karius was dropped in 2016, where was Klopp's faith when Migs was selected ahead of Karius at the beginning of the season?

As for Lovren he was dropped for the next two games after his horror show but was brought back in when Matip was injured.
