With the No 10 role appearing to still be vacant, would Jurgen consider dropping back Bobby Firmino and signing a fast striker like Werner?

U stole my thunder there matey I think that should b an option, as we don't want too b predictable and creates more options, I think it would b hard getting him though Leipzig wouldn't b happy losing keita and Werner.

I mentioned this a while ago as i think it would be a good position for him with his creativity, closing down and tracking back. also the obvious goal scoring capabilities he has brought into midfield. but generally people here didn't like the idea and i got "if its not broke don't fix it" type responses. which is true in a sense but i don't mind the idea.

Why do people constantly want to move firmino from the position he excels in? Craziness.

It might be a good idea against parked buses but against ordinary teams Salah and Mane stay high and make runs in behind. Having another striker up top will mean them 2 will have to play more like wingers and stay wide and track back.

If anything we should get a right winger and let Salah play up front.

His best position is upfront, the dynamic of our attack would change if you move him further back, it would be a bad move in my opinion.

Our striking 'option' is Solanke. We will get another player in to replace Coutinho if Fekir is no longer desired by the club.

Why try to fix something that isn't broken?

Don't get why we would want to do such especially considering how well it worked. Even if we say for some odd reason we try would you rather suggest Stud gets a run seeing that we already paying his wages.

Firmino can play as a second striker. He did so when we played with Solanke up front, and on the odd occasion when Salah played up front. It actually does him an injustice to suggest he can't perform that role just as well as he can play as a false 9.

The issue with playing a striker is it will force Salah into changing his style. We can't have two players standing on the last man and trying to offer an outlet. It just won't work. So Salah would have to play like he did at Roma; as a more orthodox winger. You'd probably cut his goal tally not far from in half if you did that. So it is only worth doing so if the player signing will score 30-40 goals a season.

If we were to make that a permanent tactic though, I'd expect better than Werner. I wouldn't even consider it unless we could get a player so good that its worth restructuring the attack. For me there are only 4 strikers in world football who fit that bill; Lewandowski, Griezmann, Ronaldo and Suarez.

Ronaldo nor Suarez won't happen for obvious reasons so that leaves just two players in world football worth changing our primary tactics for in Lewandowski and Griezmann. Just my opinion of course. Werner got 13 goals last year and is just potential with pace right now. I'm not sure I'd tear up the system for the German Theo Walcott.

BobbysTeeth1, you hit the nail on the head. I wouldn't change a thing, it's fine the way it is. Firmino, Mane and Salah just had the best season of their careers, why change it? We've got better players behind them now too, it's only going to get better. Leave it as it is.

This disregards totally that we don't play a #10 in our system. We can't just drop firmino into the midfield cos he'd have to adapt into a box to box midfielders. It'd have to be a system similar to vs Brighton that would allow a true #10. Otherwise the convo is hopeless.

Firmino's role up top is pivotal to the way we play I don't want anyone else taking that spot unless he needs rest or god forbid, is injured.
