I really think we will be sticking with Karius as no1 next season and ward no2 which would be a massive mistake in my opinion, unsure if Alisson wants the move or Oblak for that matter but we need to launwhatbit takes to sign one of the two, that's been our main problem for over 10 years and needs addressing this window, I'd be happy to only sign either Oblak or Alisson and that to be the only other transfer we make.

If Karius was number one it wouldn't be a disaster but we wouldn't be as good as we can be. For me the question is long term strategy; do we buy someone available this summer who improves us but might not be the long term answer or do we wait for the right guy who may never be available.

There's no right answer but I tend towards improving the team now.

Unless we get a top line keeper like oblak or Allison, why spend 30m on a keeper with the same flaws as karious. Until the CL final karious since xmas had been pretty good.

Who’s Karius again? Sorry I have concussion.

If our only piece of summer business left was a top draw keeper id be happy, thinking Karius is enough is going to get us near but not over the line, we can go for top draw or keep plodding along while rivals actually take the plunge and get top level.

The only thing I will say about it is that if Karius is considered good enough to continue as number one, which I don't necessarily agree with, I'd be dissapointed if we didn't bring in a third major player (after Keita and Fabinho) .

Karius is excellent at the sweeper keeper role which suits our play. I also Guarentee he will never throw the ball at he feet of a striker again. Work on his concentration and cutting out the errors and he is plenty good enough.

Jeez give the kid a chance goalkeepers mature older anyways and he is not a total disaster just more consistency required definitely something there to work wit
Up the pool.

Unfortunately the chance of making the same mistake again is out of his hands (forgive the pun), he wasn't brilliant when he played and isn't going to be top level, he doesn't have the presence needed for top level keeping, we can't make the same mistake as we did with Mignolet, he should of been gone 2 seasons ago but because a half decent finish to a season he was kept, don't make the same mistake with Karius, id rather give Ward the chance.

Come on Barry, it may be serious, but you have to be able to laugh at stuff or else you just end up living in a politically correct vacuum that just sucks the life out of everyone. It is potentially serious for whoever is concussed, but then so is falling over or mis timing a bike trick, and 'You've Been Framed' is still going all these years later.

Uncle, that was in bad taste or as we say in the U. S, that joke came "too soon" after the CL final. As for the GK issue, before the CL final, Karius had won the starting job for at least next season due to his play since he came in and the fact remains that he was very good in the final until he got clobbered in the head by Ramos and then, we know the rest. His strong points outweigh his weak points and those are coachable hence, improvemnt still needs to be made on this front.

Now, if we are going to buy another GK who is NOT the answer long term, then to blazes with that idea cos some bandaid like Butland, Pope or whoever, will need time (like Karius) to bed in and mistakes will still happen hence, you are back to square one which I and many others are not interested in.

That time you are giving said bandaid, you can give that to Karius, IMO to give him a chance to get going again. For me, Either you get the true long term upgrade like Allisson or you stick with Karius and Klopp may just do that so the whingers had better get their voices ready cos that may well happen.

If we sell Karius, we'll live to regret it.

{Ed025's Note - and how do you work that out EP?..

Regardless of opinion on him, Karius is one of us, did anyone manage to contact him or his representatives to make sure he is ok and knows we, as fans, are fully behind him?
