Hi all long time reader first time poster. Love the site and the great work the eds do. The Fekir transfer or not got me wondering about the insurance on players. If a player is injured do the wages get paid by the insurance company? Does each player have a seperate insurance policy depending on their injury record? So would the Ox's premium paid by the club be higher in the future due to his injury? Just wondered how it all worked.

Thanks in advance.

{Ed002's Note - Players are insured. Clubs will claim on it if they are out for a very long time or have a career threatening injury. Else they won't clam.}

The top clubs get their players insured fully comp, whereas lower teams just get their players insured for third party, fire and theft.

Look up dean Ashton, that was quite an interesting situation with him as he had a career ending injury with years on his contract. West ham claimed against the fa’s insurance and the player himself was trying to claim against Chelsea or a Chelsea player, I can’t quite remember.
