Just curious, did you consider including TAA as an underrated RB? I don't disagree at all with your list, just curious if you thought he was a bit underrated for his position. Thank you for doing these, very good read.

I'd have had Henderson in midfield instead of Kante personally Ed. Kante isn't fully appreciated but people rate him. Henderson isn't even appreciated by Liverpool or England fans; let alone general football fans!

Very good write up though! Agree with everything else to be honest.

Maybe we should sign Gross instead of Fekir? 😉.

{Ed001's Note - I did consider Henderson but he ended up 4th choice.}

Another one smacked out the park. Great article.

I’m regards to Mee, what’s the consensus about him at Burnley? Has he always been seen as the better CB in their ranks or do they hold the same view as many others in that his partners (Keane and Tarkowski) are better footballers?

Red Sandman.

{Ed001's Note - they are happy to sell his partners but never entertain offers for him. He is club captain and the fans love him.}

Thanks for the article Ed001. I just thought you had overrated Nacho Monreal's underrating a little bit. But I'll watch him closer in future games. Cheers 👍.

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate. Monreal is the butt of a hell of a lot of criticism when he was, for a while their only player actually bothering to defend.

In reply to stone, no mate. He is, if anything slightly overrated in the media at times. He is just a kid with a lot to prove yet.}

Giroud is a great shout, Ed. I know he wouldn't want to continue a career coming off the bench, but I'd love him to have signed for us, and Chelsea got him for a snip. He's so predictable with his positioning but it's just in the awkward spots that put defenders in a dilemma of covering space or following the man. Also, I've lost count of the times you can see a goal coming, where he ghosts in to just beyond the front post and deftly flicks the cross into the net before the defenders know what's happened. It's his trademark and no one is better at it. But hey ho, he's not fast enough so that just makes him a short Peter Crouch.

{Ed001's Note - it is a shame because he has a lot more ability than he is ever given credit for.}

Agree with most of that. Especially Giroud, always so reliable coming off the bench and surprised he didn’t start more for Chelsea this year.

I would also add doucoure from watford and I think Perez had a really good year with Newcastle which went under the radar.

{Ed001's Note - Doucoure got a lot of plaudits though so wasn't sure I could consider him.}

Am surprised Christian eriksen isn't in under rated team. The entire Tottenham team is dependent on him. He makes Tottenham the club it is today. Never given enough credit for. I mean no big clubs after him. Harry kane wouldn't be scoring half his goals if it weren't for eriksen.
I might be oversaying here but eriksen is as good as de bruyne and de bruyne is considered world class.
Eriksen has it all set piece, vision, skill, shot, defence splitters, deft one twos. And it's nearly impossible to mark him. He just glides all accross the forward line. I rarely see him having a stinker. For me he is severely under rated. His name should be among the world class players. But he is not even considered the best at Tottenham. Some Spurs fans have deli Alli ahead of him. I mean for God sakes. He is like the Danish iniesta!

{Ed001's Note - sorry but he is not close to Iniesta at all. He only plays well when given lots of time and space, great players make their own time and space. He is nowhere near world class or De Bruyne.}

Great article again Ed1, thanks mate!

Before you did this I thought you'd of been putting Firmino in there but your choices are better for this one, especially Giroud, I've seen people call him terrible at times lol he's far from terrible and a bloody good player.

{Ed001's Note - Firmino has finally been given plaudits this season, even Ed025 has seen the light with regards to him, so I couldn't put him in there.}

Yeah your right mate this season has been a game changer for him, I suppose if this was written this time last season he might've been added but he has been recognised much more after this season.

{Ed001's Note - he would have been first name last season, but this season he was finally recognised.}

See even you don't rate him 😀. He is Tottenhams best player most games and hence underrated for me.
In striker I think Javier 'the menace in the box' hernandez is severely underrated.
Also for GK I think Hugo lloris doesn't get enough credit.
Another underrated player for me is Aaron ramsey, even god is surprised when he scores and has to take away someone important😉.

{Ed001's Note - I don't rate him because he is nothing special. The minute anyone gets tight to him he vanishes. He does not have the ability to create space for himself. He plays well in games like against clueless managers such as Martin O'Neill, who hasn't the intelligence or insight into the game to understand how to shut players out of the game. That is why Alli is so important to Spurs, he creates space for Eriksen to operate in.

Not sure how Hernandez can be underrated. If anything it is the opposite. He does not do enough to be considered underrated.

Lloris was poor last season and is massively overrated, not sure who you have been listening to but he is usually placed in the same bracket as De Gea etc.

Ramsey was one of my choices though, I do agree on that one, but he was fifth choice for the midfield.}

I disagree on eriksen but I think I need to watch him better in future games.
Lloris is being compared to de gea. I think am with wrong people then! almost all guys I talk football with don't rate him as a top keeper and I always thought he was a good keeper.

Hernandez for me was kind of the only man United player I have ever liked. More a personal choice i guess.
I will put koscienly also here because he has been carrying arsenal defence alone for 5 years straight now without any defensive or midfield help! But then again I don't think he is underrated. Most people rate him.

{Ed001's Note - and Koscielny was dreadful last season as his injuries caught up with him and he was well off the pace.}
