I know the likelihood of transfers between us and united are pretty much taboo, frowned upon, immoral and illegal, but Iâ€™ve always had a soft spot for Mata. Both on and off the pitch. Anyone think he could have slotted nicely into our midfield trio as a Coutinho-replacement?

That's rubbish, we all respect. Mata was a classy little player. Big in that Spain team that dominated. I too think mats would be great in out team. The Mata of 3 years ago I would welcome, even from utd. Won't happen. Simple, but it's a shame. Mourinuo doesn't like him. Brought him on as a sub and then subbed him. Horrible man, I could see him at arsenal.

We could have done with a Mata type player to bring on for salah or to play in that midfield, in the pockets in final.

Mata is quality he's unfortunate that he moved away from a manager that didn't favour him only for the fool to follow him to United and not play him again even though he is hands down uniteds best attacking midfielder. Skilful, composed, eye for a pass. Demands the ball. Scored goals.

Never good enough for Chelsea? he got their player of the season in his final 2 years. I wouldnâ€™t want him now as I donâ€™t see where he would fit in but people on here saying heâ€™s crap are jokers, Iâ€™m sure some posters on here say every player is crap!
