Would everyone agree that we need someone with pace off the bench? Outside of the first 11 we lack a player that we can stretch the game with, and pin the opposition back. Ings has lost a lot of the pace he once had, Solanke is a different style of player. I remember Benitez used Babel off the bench many times in Europe, and it proved to be a deadly tactic as Babel was naturally very quick and could devastate opponents for the last 20 25 mins of a game.

Perhaps Wilson could be a solution next season, or maybe we could buy someone else?

I agree we did lack pace off bench in final. Had the ox been fit he may well have been an option on the right. Wilson may be an option, Ojo even at a push but I would suspect a forward player who could cover front positions. Given I have never seen him play is Fekir quick?

Cheers.

Someone coming off the bench will be playing against tired legs anyway so pure pace isn’t always needed, quality off the bench sometimes is though.

Klopp has one eye on Dembele of Barcelona who is a speed merchant! Personally I would have looked at Bailey of Leverkusen.

The argument is who is going to be content with coming off the bench when their transfer fee (in the current market) could easily be 40mill plus?

Fatboy that is the conundrum we have to solve. Our limited options off the bench were the gulf in the CL final. We are limited but it does not have to be that way. To compete we need at least 3 game changers on the bench, and we have to take into account 5-6 players missing through injury. That is a first XI plus 8-9 outfield players, who need to be quality. And a decent back up GK. They do not all need a o be £40m + but the way transfer prices escalate .
