I've woken up this morning and I am already over last nights result. Was Karius at fault for the 2 goals? Yes no doubts. Do I hold a grudge or wish unwell on him? Of course I don't and neither should anybody else. It's a game of football. Did the team turn up and play last night? No. But that should not put a dampener on how they have played for the majority of this season. I'm already looking forward to next season and am excited now that the window is open. We will have some exciting and some mundane World Cup football to pass the time the next month or so and then onto next season which I am really excited about. Last night was one game of football. I have far more important things going on in my life to let us losing have a negative effect on me beyond the few hours I was devastated. No words can change what happened last night and I think we should just move on and chill our beans. Let Klopp and his team make the decisions they are paid to do.

Well said. I was disappointed only for a few hours and then completely fine. The important thing is we have exceeded all expectations so far and are on course to have an even better season next time as long as the right players are bought in to improve the squad. On another night, we would have beaten Real imo. The Salah injury and Karius howlers were freak incidents that will not happen again on another day. People need to calm down and be happy we got beyond the quarters of the UCL. Reaching the final was a bonus imo as our squad is still a work in progress.
Next season we will be more experienced, battle hardened and the players will have a point to prove. Just the boring World cUp to get past, and we are back to the real football that is the UCL and BPL 2018/ 19.

Agree with some of your points but cannot agree with you saying the team did not show up last night. I must have watched the wrong game. The whole team did themselves, us fans, Liverpool and the UK extremely proud.

We were the better team until Salah went off. That would have an effect on any team. We lost momentum for a bit but showed so much resilience to stay in it and then had good few spells of play. To come back and get the equaliser showed balls. We showed up alright. We may not have dominated like some fans were deluded enough to think we would do so against the team that won back to back champions leagues.

No one can legislate for them 2 howlers. I don’t care what anyone says - whether they want to slate Karius or want to back him. There’s no way they would not have a mental impact on any team in the world. This was Real Madrid and they are big game players. Better team won overall but I’m not over it already. We should have and could have gone to extra time. Would we have won? Maybe or maybe not. A goal like Bales was deserving of winning any game. To bring quality off the bench as they did shoes the difference between us. We had a team of warriors that showed up and run their hearts out. It just wasn’t quite good enough.

What I will say is, we are back where we belong. Among the upper echelons of European football. We have also gained ourselves a whole bunch of new fans. Looking forward to us getting some reinforcements in and can’t wait until next season.

We fo again Redmen.

That said. I think Salah going off in the way he did destroyed team moral. We lost the game then not when Karius gifted them the opening goal. They say you need luck to win this competition and i feel we made our own luck throughout the campaign but when they can bring on Bale and we only had a barely fit Lallana then we were always going to struggle in the latter part of the game. It shows the gulf in squads between the likes of ourselves, Madrid and Man City. We have had an amazing run which i have loved. Im just sad it ended the way it did. I only hope the lads can go again next next season. its going to be hard to match this year.

{Ed002's Note - You need to move all of the complete flakes out ifLiverpool’s moral leaves with one player going off.}

You’re corrrect ed, but so is MM. The game completely changed at that point, for whatever reason whether it be giving Madrid confidence to push forward more or whether it damaged our players confidence, however as you say our players should have stepped up and not wilted, if that is indeed what happened. Personally, I think it gave Madrid confidence but it certainly shows we could do with a couple more players behind the 1st 11 to give Klopp a bench he can rely on.
I’m not down today, as the old guy who got battered by a thug with a hammer said this week, worse things happen at sea. It’s only football, it’s a pity it went the way it did but at least we’re in it again next year and I would presume that, along with making the final, will help with player recruitment.
