good deal eds? i think i also recall this wasn't a very ethical company to be associated with though that could be another sponsor they were referring to?

{Ed001's Note - they are certainly not a company I would choose to be associated with myself.}

Does anyone know how this deal compares in money terms to our rivals and their main sponsors?

Ed002 always said that we should be after more high profile sponsor.

They are a bank so they are bound to be corrupt or unethical to some extent. Bankers and lawyers take up 75% of the space in hell. 20% is a place called New Manchester (there is a reason they're called the red devils) . The other 5% is reserved for Mourinho and his huge head.

It's big. United are the biggest at 47m per year. This would join us with Chelsea at 40.

In terms of a good brand to associate with? Well it's not as nice a thing to be a partner to as AIA or Palm (Spurs and West Brom) . Even in terms of financial corps, we're not doing as well as the likes of Brighton (Amex) and Watford (FXPro) . However, it's also not a cancerous explotative organisation like the 10 teams that have betting companies on their shirt (every one of which lobbied against lowering the maximum stake on fixed odd betting machines btw) . So the wrong side of the 'moralvsimmoral sponsor', but not as bad as they could easily be certainly.

Frankly, I'm more worried about some of our other sponsors - BetVictor for the training kit (also lobbied against lower stakes), Tatweer Misr who have been found culpable in extensive and unnecessary environmental damage in their developments, LiverpoolVodka (do we really need 2 alcohol sponsors? ) and Malaysia Airlines who have been shown multiple times as not fully protecting their passengers or complying with normal air traffic procedure (and that's not including their two downed aircraft) . SC aren't good, but if we are going to clean up our 'official partners' I think there are probably higher priority places to start.

Standard chartered always seems to be mentioned when a scandal is happening somewhere in the world involving money.

As long as this time the scandal is then giving us a bigger pile of money than anyone else that’ll do me.
