If anyone doubts the fact that Klopp really wants Ousmane Dembele then you only have to consider the fact that the guy he recruited instead of Dembele shares part of Dembele's first name!

Also, on the Tarkowski point, although he is younger (and therefore more potential) than Ben Mee, I really do think that Ben Mee is the real target from Burnley, not least, as one poster pointed out, that Ben Mee is a LCB so would dovetail much better with VVD.

Mee is also a leader and, most importantly, Adam is a huge fan!

I wouldn’t want either of Mee or Tarkowski. Burnley play a very defensive style and as shown with Keane at Everton, playing in a team that is organised the way they do is one thing, but to then go to a team playing a more open style (pre Allardyce) their flaws may be brutally exposed. And Tarkowski is a United supporter which makes him an absolute no.

{Ed025's Note - i dont think who he supports makes any difference at all FMS, but your point about keane is very pertinent mate..

Ben Mee is poor in the air though and he’s not the biggest lad around. Given how poor we are at crosses and set pieces we might at least look at someone who is not likely to be dominated by opposition centre forwards.

We're poor at set pieces and crosses?
That lot was tightened up as soon as VvD signed.

Solksjaer was a huge Liverpool fan. It never matters. Support the lad if he comes in. Have we learned nothing from klopp’s ability to spot something that fifa and football manager hasn’t.

We are still poor on crosses, Chelsea and Roma proved that. Mee is not the answer to that problem. He’s as bang average as Ben Gibson.

As for United signing Solksjaer, so what? There is a difference in that as a Norwegian, Solksjaer wouldn’t have been exposed to the deep level of dislike and local rivalry as Tarkowski would, given that he is also from greater Manchester, I’m not buying that ‘but he’s a professional’ line, once a Manc always a Manc, you wouldn’t want him playing for the team he hates against the team he loves would you? Added to the fact that Tarkowski isn’t that good, the very fact that he supports that mob down the road just nails it for me.

{Ed025's Note - your very shallow FMS, just because a guy supports united does that make them a bad person?, i think you need to grow up a bit mate..

Only in England are such things like "He's a an (insert club here) fan" stuff counts as much cos in my exp. watching other leagues for over 2 decades, that really does not matter that much even tho to some extent, it helps. It is definitely not the reason you consider signing a player.

FranklyShanks, we are poor at crosses and set-pieces? You must be watching LFC of two years ago or last season. LFC conceded 8 goals from set pieces this season, down from 13 in 16/ 1 and from 15 in 15/ 16 so check your facts, man.

As for either Mee or Tarkowski, I don't rate either of them and judging by the disaster that Michael Keane has become at Everton after coming from bus-parking Burnley, I would stay well away from them.

BRover remember the games against Chelsea, West Brom
and Roma? We are still poor dealing with crosses.

Ed025, a player being a Man United supporter means that I would not want them playing for the team I support. Notwithstanding the fact he’s simply not that good.

Where does the pettiness end? We probably shouldn’t buy Fekir either as he is friends with Pogba and Martial.

Dalglish supported Ferguson when his board were about to sack him in the early days.

We should have sacked him on the spot.

🙄🙄.

Oh, and Rushie, God and Macca.

Apparently Lallana is being sold this summer as the truth has come out that he supported Everton too.

Zeddicus, you say that Ben Mee is a LCB so would dovetail well with VVD. How would that be? VVD is also a LCB so are we going to play both, holding hands on the left side and just leave a massive gap on the right?

Lawro was and still is a big Man U fan.
Quite happy we signed him though 👍.

FranklyShanks, I said we have improved. I never said the issue has been eradicated completely and picking 3 games (I don't recall us conceding from a cross or set piece from Roma but I digress) does not change the fact that we have improved on this topic either.
