Looking at the new coach situation at Arsenal, im surprised there isn't even a little bit of talk about Rafa being appointed there.

Given funds and time he could turn them around. Would be a better bet than Arteta considering most other coaches are out of the running.

I've seen Rafa linked to everything. Everton, West Ham, Spurs, Real Madrid, Arsenal, Watford, Chelsea.

We've got a lady in accounts on maternity leave and Rafa is 4/ 7 to get the job until the end of the season.

The consensus in the media appears to be that they want to keep the job in the extended arsenal family I think.

The amount of jobs possibly available in the prem is crazy. Arsenal west ham and everton are definites. Watford always seem to replace the manager, puel is not guarenteed to stay. Benitez is always a potential if he doesn't get backed. Conte at chelsea may also leave.

Good to see Everton sacking a Manager who kept them up and looking to replace him with a Manager who couldn’t do the same for Hull City.

I hope Moshiri keeps Big Sam’s number in his contacts as he may need to give him a call after Christmas.

I get the impression that Arsenal don't want an experienced, strong willed Manager. but someone who won't rock the boat and will tow the line in regards to the running of the club and transfer policy.

I agree that Unsworth may have got the results that Sam got after he was appointed but, apart from the West Ham game he won, Everton were not safely in mid-table, they were plummeting fast.

Otherwise, why bring in long-ball, park-the-bus Sam to the ‘school of science’ if they were not panicking?

I may be wrong Ed001, but not as wrong as you are. Everton sacked Kieman on 24th October and replaced him with Unsworth on a temporary basis. They placed 7 games and lost 5, winning 1 and drawing 1.

Allardyce was appointed on 29th November and Everton were in 17th position in the Premier League. That is hardly safely in mid-table, just one place above the bottom 3.

The 7 games Unsworth was in charge before the West Ham game were:
Chelsea (lost 2-1)
Leicester (lost 2-0)
Lyon (lost 3-0)
Watford (won 3-2)
Crystal Palace (drew 2-2)
Atalanta (lost 5-1)
Southampton (lost 4-1)

It is possible that Unsworth might have turned the corner with the 4-0 West Ham won but he never got the chance so we will never know.

Allardyce talks some crap but he was correct in saying that he did what he was brought in to do, which was to keep them up. Let’s face it, you don’t appoint Allardyce unless you are in trouble.

Unsworth was still in charge when they beat West Ham, though Allardyce had been appointed, he never came on board until afterwards. Unsworth was in charge for 8 games not 7. You are just being a dick to have a dig at Everton, when you are just showing yourself to be as bitter as you no doubt call the bluenoses. You might want to check who was in the dug out during the 4-0 win over the Hammers on 29th November. I will give you a clue, it was not Fat Scam as he had been appointed too late to have any involvement with a game that was played on the same day.
