Twitter has actually been blowing up with this Butland rumour since late last week (on my timeline anyway) . James Pearce this afternoon said the club has no interest in Butland as far as he knew.

I can see the future:

Liverpool fans will complain about the potential signing of Butland on Social Media.
Liverpool will see this and back out at the last minute.
Very smug, clever men will say that Macca was wrong even though it was correct at the time he said it.

SR, I hope it works cos Butland is inferior to Karius, IMO so why bring a young GK in to challenge him if you want him to be the guy long term? I don't get that. Might as well get a mentor-type GK like Reina who will help Karius grow.
