Would anyone take crouchy back as someone who could come off the bench last 15 of a game to shake things up a bit if not all is going to plan🤔? Just a thought🙈.

I would take Crouch back on a low, short term contract.

You can't put a value on having leaders in the dressing room. Crouch is a great influence who is always fit if needed, gives us a good plan B option, and sets the right example.

He'd never start an important game because he doesn't suit our style of play. But surely it is better than sending Caulker, Skrtel or Virgil up front for the last 10 minutes when we are chasing?

Imo not mobile enough need something to strengthen the bench though. i know everyone talks about starting players but does anyone know of any bench impact players we are looking at?

Why take that position from a youth player who can actually fit our style? Solanke and Brewster would be fuming and rightfully so. Would make no sense to me.

You can't have a player who will only ever play ten mins when we need a goal, he will not be sharp, and I'd rather try solanke or Ings at the moment, they are no worse players.

I dunno what he would bring to the team to be honest, even as a plan B, you would need 8 substitutes to change the team from what it is to something that would work with crouch up front.

He doesn't need to be mobile if we play to his strengths which is play as high as we did against Chelsea but pepper the box with crosses. I don't think that's Klopp's way though. I would think he'd be more likely to be seen in a Man Utd shirt if Fellaini leaves, personally.

Yes as a replacement for Solanke.

Crouch (love him to death) is not an option, IMO.

Bardzo, Klopp would never start a game like that, but if you look back to the 5-4 against Norwich he threw Caulker up front! Last game against Chelsea he threw Van Dijk up front.

He has done it a few times late in games, but you are right that it isn't his style. He'd never deploy that tactic from the start.

Seems strange to me that people wouldn't bat an eyelid at having a 40 year old keeper, a 35 year old centre back, or a 33 year old midfielder, picking up a wage for their off field influence, but are against a striker who would offer the same thing; experience and leadership. But then as a follower of Roma, I've become acclimatised to seeing Totti playing a dressing room role whilst barely getting on the pitch, for the last few years. So maybe It's just not as alien to me.

I'd have Crouch back at the club in any other capacity than as a player. I think it's probably to early for him to do that as I think he can still do a job up front for a lot of teams. I'd have him back at Liverpool as he seems to be a really top guy and his passion is infectious. Guys like him are a rarity and if he decides on a non-playing career when he hangs his boots up, I'd like that to be at Liverpool.

I thought the plan B was to bring better players than Ings and Solanke off the bench to reinforce our plan A!?

MK IMO, I have a prob. with all those players (with their ages) that you mentioned including Crouch. Crouch is not past it and we need to move on from this, IMO. We can do better.

Assuming Crouch would take the place of either the 2nd or 3rd backup forward (Ings and Solanke), I think it would be a very short-sighted and not very prudent move. A backup should be a backup in every sense of the word. What happens if Firmino gets injured and we're stuck with Crouch playing even 1/ 2 of the games for an extended period? Would not only affect our tactics completely (can he press at all? ) but demand drastic changes in Mane's and Salah's game. Not a viable solution, for me. Either look at the now, or the future. The past is gone.

Bring Rushy back while we are at it.

You're right, MK. I just don't think he would want someone on the books for use in one situation is all. Van Dijk and Caulker are defenders first so are supposed to have more useful primary functions.
