Great win for Brighton last night which in turn is good for the final day imo. They won't have anything to play for and will hopefully have their minds on the beach add to that they have also been awful away from home.
If I was Klopp I would rest players Sunday and go full strength against Brighton, slightly risky but I think we've looked a little fatigued the last 3 games and a rest is needed for some players and fatigue is the only thing I can see stopping us beating Brighton. I'm not confident at all for Sunday and if we play a full team and lose it will do more to harm our chances against Brighton. I know some will say play full strength both games and have 2 bites at it but imo I would play a reserve team on Sunday.
On another note, how are United second? We are so much better than them yet their going to finish a good few points ahead of us and probably win the FA Cup!

I didn't see the game but I'm pleased for Chris Hughton who seems to do a good job in an undemonstrative way everywhere he goes.
I do like the guy and I think he was right to call Klopp out earlier in the season too.

Cobra De Gea, their player of the season for a 4th time. That’s why they’re second. When utd dominated and they had it schemeichel in goal I don’t think he ever won that award.

I have to say I have no idea how United have finished runners up they are shocking. When a keepergets player of the year four years in a row it says alot.

Utd are not great entertainment wise but football is a results business and they have the points on the board. We are playing some of the best football we have ever played in premier league era and are in a CL final so we should be all ecstatic about that. Yes we have played better football in the league than Utd but they have had better results over 36 games.

I saw the game and they were dreadful from top to bottom. As for DDG, it was his mistake that directly led to the goal that Brighton needed to win and stay up. As for Utd, football may be a results business and they may have the points on the board so they finish second and credit to them. That does not remove from the fact that they are horrible to watch to the point that their fans started walking out of OT vs Arsenal. Yeah, even many of the fans are no longer buying the whole "results business" stuff anymore. Coming second was NEVER a trophy and is definitely not much to write home about if you spent near 300m and finished 20+ points behind City.

You need to be able to play football in order to give yourself a chance to win consistently. That is football of today. Imagine, Utd actually tried to beat Seville by not actually trying to score a goal, hoping that Seville make a mistake and since they did not, they were screwed. Really? This CL and PL campaign has shown that fortune favors the brave and both finalists are worthy cos they played the open style of football that will lead either one to glory. Same with City and their PL win. The Utd fans see it. We see it. Everyone sees it. They are nowhere near winning the PL any more than we are and Mou will be gone after next year while Klopp will still be here.

My cousin supports Man United so had to endure watching them over the last few years and have to say De Gea is superman in the flesh. I have with probably seen him make the most ridiculous saves, which in turn gave them the win in too many games to remember, take him away and Man United finish midtable or therabouts.

Here's hoping Madrid buy de gea. He saves them minimum 10 points a season. Without him I think they'd be struggling like arsenal.

The art of boxing is to hit and not get hit. The art of football is to not get hit (concede) and hit (score) .

Hence why United finished second. if you don’t concede you don’t lose. And they’ve got a punchers chance every game to get that knockout (goal) .

Just shows the importance of a great keeper.

BRover I echo very much what you say mate. Except your coming second is not a trophy. Utd won 2 trophies last season and could win 1 still this season. Yes we could still win the grandest trophy of them all but also you bet your life if we finished 2nd we would boast about it. I hate Utd as much as the next LFC fan but I don't let that cloud my opinions or comments.

Jay, this is where you are mistaken. I have NO business in discussing or boasting about coming second. I NEVER did it when BR did it cos he bottled the PL royally. Had we come second this season, I would seen it as progress and nothing more, just as I saw our getting to two finals with Klopp as progress compared to the seasons before. Why? cos according to the late Dale Earndhardt jnr (great NASCAR driver), "Coming second only means 1st place in Loser Land".

As for their two trophies, yes they won two trophies BUT with one caveat. The trophies they won are the same trophies that Fergie, their fans and their current manager, called Loser's trophies when WE or others were winning them. BUT Now that they are winning them, they called them the treble. Yeah, they even added the Charity Shield and called it a treble. So when were they hypocrites? Was it then or is it now? I would not refer to their "Losers' Trophies" (Their words not mine) cos it is laced with hollowness and rank hypocrisy.

TaffyTel, your boxing analogy makes very little sense. The art of football has nothing to do with not conceding. It has all to do with scoring more goals than the opponent, just like boxing is the art of landing more punches on your opponent than he lands on you. If you don't wanna get hit in boxing, don't step in the ring, period. A great keeper will not stop you from conceding cos EVERY GK concedes just like every boxer gets hit.

Frankly, the DDG worshiping needs to end cos it is bordering on the near absurd. It took DDG a good 3/ 4 years to get to where he is now BUT people just talk like he came to Utd as a world class GK. NONE of that is true. Why? We all saw him struggle for a good two years. In fact, Rio said that Fergie doubted DDG so much that he used to consult with the senior players on whether to start DDG or Tomasz Krusczak.

Utd play a very slow, defensive system and that has not stopped DDG from conceding or making mistakes (he has made 5 of them that I saw w/ my own eyes) . It takes a whole system to defend well in football, not just the GK.
