Up until last night I had a little ritual when I was watching the game on TV, where I would change where I was sitting in the room if nothing was happening in the game or if we went behind. It seemed to work a treat. until last night. I sat on the lounge- nothing. I lay on the lounge - still nothing. I curled up in a ball on the floor next to the cat- absolutely nothing! I am now looking for a new ritual. I would be interested to hear from other fans what they do to try and help the team from afar?

Absolutely nothing you do will help the team. Only the players and manager can have an effect on the match.
Doing anything like you state is just weird and if you believe you are helping the team wow just wow. 4.

You don't have any strange superstitions like that Walter? It used to be that when I was working and couldn't watch games live that we would win so I made a point of not booking them off. Seems to have changed recently tho (was working for wba and stoke! )

We know they don't have any affect on the game Walter but let people have their strange habits and rituals if it makes them feel they can make a difference.

Tell you what happens with me a lot is, when I go outside for a smoke, we score! I've got a little signal system set up with my boy, if we score then he knocks on the window and gives a big grin and a thumbs up if we concede, then just don't do anything. It's happened tons of times, I've got to the back door and suddenly see him knocking on the window saying we've scored. Yesterday come the 80th minute I thought I'd do it, I was waiting for the window to knock, it didn't! but honestly this season it must've happened at least 10 times.

Well pack in smoking ya dirty individual.

{Ed025's Note - i hate it when people say things like stop smoking, if someone wants a ciggie and can afford them and its not affecting others then whats the problem?, and dont give me this strain on the NHS crap because all the do-gooder police should be camped outside Mcdonalds arresting lard arses who are the real problem, smokers pay massive amounts of tax which helps to fund that NHS...power to the smokers..

I usually watch the games on my laptop, because the games are on very late or in the early morning (I'm in Asia), and I can put on the earplugs and not disturb anyone. When we're not doing well, I simply open up other tabs and have a look while continuing to listen to the commentary of the game. And suddenly go back to the game if the commentary becomes interesting. I've done a lot of that this season - with 12 draws, so far this season, nobody should be surprised.

Ed025 - I've been smoking 41 years now. I absolutely love it. My greatest one regret in life, is the day I started it. 😁.

{Ed025's Note - yes ra me too, i just dont like people telling me what i should and should not do mate..

Everyone is in titled to their beliefs or rituals. I just sit and watch at the pub or home as don't go to matches anymore.
Even when we score I don't really do anything I might discus the goal with my friends. If I am on my own I just carry on sitting. I don't get the going crazy just coz we scored.

{Ed025's Note - you sound like a fun guy to be around walter..

Jamie Oliver is one of the worst of the “fun police”.
Sugar tax?
I think we should start a “affecting a faux cockney accent on TV and making millions re-writing other people’s recipes” tax 😡.

Cheers Ed25, exactly my thoughts too, I smoke why? because I enjoy it and don't intend on quitting anytime soon. If I could easily I would, but it's not easy and I don't want to be unhappy and stressed out by doing it therefore, I'll continue and I'll enjoy it! There's a lot worse out there then smoking a bloody cigarette. My grandad started smoking when he was 14 years old, he died at 98 and never quit, he was one of the most healthiest men I knew. Truthhurts, go have a cig mate, it might do you some good.

{Ed025's Note - during WW2 troops were actually encouraged to smoke salah as it has a calming effect, maybe some of the keyboard warriors on here should try it mate..

oh Ed025, you should never allow someone to tell you what to do, or what not to do. you should always have the liberty to make your own choices. you should. ha, think that's quite enough.

good weekend so far eh?

{Ed025's Note - not too bad sg, liverpool drew at home to the mighty stoke and we demolished huddersfield whats not to like?....and it looks like sam is in the running for bell ends manager of the month mate..

Ed 25 I'm telling you to carry on smoking mate. I'm also telling you that next season you should start supporting a proper football team, that way it may reduce your stress and cut down the cigarettes 😉.

{Ed025's Note - being an evertonian is far worse for your health than smoking jayden, you choose to smoke but evertonians are born mate..

Ed025, in my humble opinion, this should be considered a great weekend for evertonians. you won't get much bigger or better weekends after crushing Huddersfield who've won 3 league titles on the trot.

much as i dislike big sam, he seems to be able to get results and with 8 of 15 pts, he does seem to be in the running. suddenly, Everton are a top 10 side! looks like big sam is going to stay? how would you take it if he is indeed going to be gaffer for Everton next season?

{Ed025's Note - i would be gutted sg, he is not fit for purpose of any team who want to win things imo, hes a WBA, southampton or brighton type of manager mate, his philosophy is all about not getting beat rather than winning which has made it a borefest for the supporters this season mate..

A ciggie here and there is vital to your mental health I find.!

{Ed025's Note - im with you all the way hamish..

Ed025. True. that's why i wonder what on earth the people at the FA were thinking, perhaps underscoring the ambitions for the England team (not that I care much), when they appointed him as manager.

i would also much prefer a different manager for you, just so merseyside football can at least be fun to watch and talked about, derbies can be more exciting and on the edge with both sides going for it and having the chance to win it in spite of a difference in quality. right now, its a real bore and the games are so forgettable.

{Ed025's Note - your right there sg..
