Out of interest Ed who is next on the legends list? the Cruyff article was brilliant and gave a good insight into the man not just the player.

{Ed001's Note - I was thinking of doing Jack Charlton next.}

Gerd Muller please?

{Ed002's Note - He is more interesting than Jack Charlton Juicer - but nudge Ed001 toward Robin Friday. He'll enjoy the research, will need to read the book I guess, and then maybe tell a story very different to most.}

Whoever is next, I look forward to it. If you want anymore books Ed1, just let me know mate.

{Ed001's Note - do you have a big collection like? I had to give away all my books when I left the UK, broke my heart that did! Robin Friday is ok, but he has been done to death in the likes of 442 in recent years so I wanted to leave him a bit until he goes back to being obscure.}

Do one on Salah!

{Ed001's Note - bit early to do one on him mate.}

Ah noway! that must've been so frustrating mate having to get rid of all your books, most of mine are digital now so I keep them backed up just in case the hard drive decides to bugger up lol but yes mate I have quite a lot of digital ones.

I don't have one on Robin Friday though, I'll have to see if I can get a copy of his book 'The Greatest Footballer You Never Saw: The Robin Friday Story' just looked it up and it sounds pretty good from reviews.

I think 'Graeme Souness – Football: My Life, My Passion' is next on my list to read but these days it's hard to get a minute to myself to get them read haha!

{Ed001's Note - the Robin Friday book is a good one. People used to get me them for bdays and xmas, so I had hundreds of books, many I had not got the chance to read. I do love reading books, I struggle to sleep without having a read for a bit first.

How can you not have time to read? Our family always called the toilet the library for a reason. All my life I can remember my grandad would disappear off down the yard to the bog so he could relax and read the paper in peace while having a tom tit. It is one of life's little pleasures, a good book and a good crap....}

Hahahaha about right mate, I must admit I miss hardback books, I lost a load of them in leak from the loft in my old house, was so gutted, the leak could've gone over a load of sh*te but chose to go over my books, typical. So now most of them are just on my computer, will have to put a few on my phone then I can read them more.

{Ed001's Note - ebooks are great for taking around and reading if you are stuck in a queue or something but nothing beats a real book.}

Not long finished the Souness book Salah, it’s worth a read and some interesting points and instances gives you a bit of insight into his character although I think he glosses over certain bits without going into the depth perhaps he could have or without maybe being as truthful as he could. Be interested to see what you think.

Thanks Theredwolf, will hopefully get it started today!

I know what you mean, so many autobiographies do that don't they, they could go a bit deeper but so much is left out.

{Ed001's Note - Dietmar Hamann's is a bit pointless, dead short and very little of interest in it to be honest. Quite boring. No depth at all and the only bit that showed any passion was when he talked about playing under Mark Hughes, who he clearly did not like or rate as a manager.}

I'm glad I didn't finish it then Ed1 mate, I had started it but it didn't pull me in like I'd want it to, it made a difficult read and I stopped reading it telling myself I'd go back to it but never have done.

Like the Michael Owen one, I had a hard time even starting it and it was terrible imo, not well written at all with irrelevant topics. It's a shame so many players do their autobiographies just to say they've done one, it seems to be the trend amongst them yet with so many they fail to put the detail in and hold back too much.

I think the worst I read was 'Totally Frank: The Autobiography of Frank Lampard' I mean my word, we all love a moan but that fella is probably the most miserable of all, it made a terrible read, very boring, I don't know how I managed to finish it to be honest lol.

{Ed001's Note - they only do them for the money, let's be honest.}

I got a kindle Xmas before last. Loved it but I barely use it now. I love the real thing. Hard backs annoy me a bit as they're so heavy and you can't easily hold them between forefinger and thumb. Soft covers are beautiful.

I love fantasy novels, Lord of the rings, game of thrones and am reading some novels by the brit Joe abercrombie. Anyone have any tips for good fantasy. Sorry, 8 know it's not lfc related. My two passions are reading and lfc.
