We have had 3 penalties this season with 6 against us.
I am at the point where I honestly think there is an agenda against us. We don’t get penalties and we get them given against us for nothing.

We would be in the champions league again now and probably in second place. How the foul on Danny Ings in the box yesterday isn’t given is beyond me.

The pen that spurs got in the dying seconds. The pen that Everton got at Anfield.

That’s 6 points alone.

The stats just don’t make sense, given that we usually have the lions share of possession and that we spend probably double the amount of time in the opposing teams penalty area then you would think that on average we would get at least an equal amount of penalties? We have been given half.

In years to come it will come out about the agenda against Liverpool. I’m utterly convinced. They don’t want us up there, with the vast amounts of money flying around for champions league qualification - I think that they are being bribed and they want certain teams in those four spots. .

{Ed0333's Note - Oh MrPlums you have put a smile on my face nae I’m cracking up. I like a good conspiracy theory as much as the next man but i don’t think there’s any legs to your sentiments. Besides I have it on good authority the referee of today’s game was at dinner with a notorious Indian bookmaker/matchfixer in Manchester last week and they were discussing baby names for Meghan Markle and the odds on goals scored by the home team in the last 2minutes of matches.

I saw an article on Tomkintimes talking about penalties and referees. They concluded that rather than bias against Liverpool, refs might be biased in favour of English/ British players. About 60% of penalties were given to British players. Oh, and teams on average receive 62% of appeals awarded at home. Liverpool are awarded 50% at Anfield.
Looks like we need more British players to get fouled in the box or get more of them if we want more penalties ;)

It’s a cliche but the fine margins really count. How that isn’t a foul on Danny Ings I will sadly never ever know. I’d love be to ask the referee. He also took a punch to the gut Hegazi. Bunch of thugs that lot, and I will be very happy to see them go down. We will see if that is dealt with in retrospect but I bet it won’t be. The level of refereeing in our games this year has been appalling.

{Ed001's Note - worse is that they got a foul for that.}

I don't believe in agendas or conspiracies BUT you have to say, this officiating whenever LFC plays in the PL, is becoming diabolical, IMO. The thing is is that in the PL, refs are inherently incompetent and make mistakes on both sides so people think they are good. The ref yesterday, was clueless. Why? You could actually tell that most of the decisions he was making, were being done on a whim or a guess. You could see that he had no clue of what to award or not so he would either let play go on when it should not have or was scared to blow for stuff cos he was rarely sure.

For example on the foul on Ings, I saw that on TV live and I knew it was NOT a coming together and the replays showed it. If I can see that on my telly in real time, what stops the ref from seeing that when he's on the pitch? Also I think refs are WAY too far from the play so when things happen like the Hegazi incident, they just guess and when you get wrong, you look like a goat which he is now. We need better refs on the whole, who know the rules, can keep up with play and make the right decisions cos at this point, we may not be able to win the PL if such ref standards are there cos refs seem okay to just screw with certain teams and not w/ others.

{Ed001's Note - the 4th official had a clear view of that incident yet somehow was unable to see it. He was right where the camera was!}

I spent an afternoon with keith hackett a few years back. He said that the refs hated the constant moaning of david moyes so much that they loved giving decisions against his teams (at that time everton) . I wonder if klopps antics on the sidelines are having a detrmimental effect on these decisions? we've had some shockers this season. Id be all in for var if it could be done quickly and accurately (which they don't seem to be able to do at the mo sadly)

Good one ed. I think the bookmaker would be sat with a Russian in the west end of London to st you straight.

{Ed0333's Note - Im sticking to my story and will not be swayed. The bookmaker ordered a lamb rogan josh with two garlic nan (extra ghee) and the referee ordered a tandoori chicken but it didn’t fill him up so he ordered a mixed grill but couldn’t finish it and took the rest home. The bookmaker picked up the bill. Read into that what you will. I have it on good authourity the bill was paid in pounds sterling.
