That was a quality little piece to read!

Thanks Ed001 for pulling it together during your weekend in Dubai (Friday to Saturday for those of you who didn’t know when the Arabic weekend is) .

Red Sandman.

{Ed001's Note - luckily there are not as many Premier League games to preview for tomorrow as usual so I had a bit of spare time. Really glad you enjoyed. It is a bit more fun to do (and hopefully read) than the previews as well.}

I knew Ed025 Was a closet red! And Ed007, you need to stop spending so much time with the raver!

Absolutely brilliant read that Ed001. The best thing I've ever read on this site actually. Funny and entertaining from start to finish, with some genuinely top class insight dropped in as well. Absolutely fantastic. The only thing I've ever read on the internet that actually made me laugh out loud!

{Ed001's Note - insight? Now I am genuinely confused! Ah wait, you mean the insight into Dylan's surname? I was amazed at Ed007's knowledge there I have to admit.}

Fancy having Frank Lebeouf on hand to answer your questions lol.

{Ed001's Note - as you do. Don't we all just phone him when we need an answer? For the purposes of the ASA I have to point out other ex-Premier League players are available.}

LOL Ed I enjoyed reading that mate. Really comical and interesting to see different Eds views, especially Ed7's hahaha!

I just had a text from Mr Kane himself, saying he noticed all the eds voted for me, he informed me he's claimed it just because he can! cheeky bugger, don't think so.

I'd agree on Sean Dyche, he's done brilliantly this season, nobody would've expected him/ Burnley to go on and be 7th (at this point) and no matter what happens now, they've had a great season.

As for pep I agree, he's way down in the list for me.

Young player for me would be TAA or Sane, but because TAA absolutely owned Sane especially in the first leg, he'd get my vote.

Son for the most improved is a great shout but personally I'm going to go with Robbo, he is noway the finished article but he can be, I think he's helped transform our defence for the better and coming from Hull to Liverpool, that's a big step up and he's handled it overall very well.

Goal of the season, there's too many lol and my minds gone blank but one really stood out to me was against City, a great pass from the Ox onto Firmino and the way he handled it was incredible and finished, that goal just proved how amazing the lad can be. Exciting thing is, it's not rare, he can do it time and time again should he get it delivered properly.

Team of the year is one of them I could change it a few times but I'd go with -

GK - Pope
RB - By far TAA.
CB - Azpilicueta
CB - Ben Mee
LB - Robbo
CM - KDB
CM - Kante has been incredible and a player any team would love to have but I can't leave out Doucoure, he's had an exceptional season so he gets my vote.
AM - Silva, there's no debate.
RW - Me
LW - Son
CF - Firmino.

{Ed001's Note - glad you enjoyed it mate. I had a lot of fun writing that.}

I had Frank Lebeouf on speed-dial for a while but he just couldn't cut the mustard, so I went for Chris Coleman instead.

Awesome read Ed001, I agree with it all! The quantity of names for FB just proves the dearth at the moment in quality, established FBs. A few years back Cashley would've walked LB for example. Also defenders as a whole, there were no outright winners, like there were in midfield and forwards.

Very interesting and entertaining! Looking forward to next year's one (or maybe a mid-year too? Please?! )

{Ed001's Note - I was thinking a World Cup one would be next?}

6.) 20 Apr 2018
20 Apr 2018 11:32:15
Definitely Ed! A World Cup one would be fantastic. Ed007 will have Tiger Woods leading the line, but it'll be well worth the laughs!

{Ed001's Note - I am not sure Woods will be at the World Cup mate, Brentford players seldom get picked....}

What a cracking read thank you very very much ED001
I would like to shout out Rafa as manager of the season as that team should of got relegated but he has fought to keep them up
class manager as per usual.

{Ed001's Note - that was the only other one I thought deserved a shout, as he has massively overachieved. Though in any normal season Wagner and Hughton would have been in with a chance too.}

Great. Love the new articles that are getting posted to this site. Followed it for years, and every time it evolves, it evolves in the right way. That may be because you listen to us or it may be because you know what football fans want. Or both. Anyway, that was brilliant, loved your notes on Ed007’s comments, very comical. Best football fan site going.

{Ed001's Note - thank you barnesy. Really glad people enjoyed it. Have to say fair dos to Ed007 for letting me set him up like that, as he knew what would happen.}

20 Apr 2018 12:36:24
Great read 001. Do you not think De Bruyne would have a shout over Silva?

{Ed001's Note - Fowler no! Silva is the key to their success. When he was out they were playing terribly, once he was back to full fitness they have returned to form. Silva is by far and away the best player in the Prem.}

20 Apr 2018 12:59:52
Thank you ed, really enjoyed that and thanks for adding a few extra categories to my original suggestion!

{Ed001's Note - apologies for not crediting you in the article for the original idea, I couldn't remember for the life of me who had requested it. I try and put the name next to the entry on the to do list when I get sent in ideas now, but I never added yours to the to do list as I started on it straight away by asking the editors to give their choices.}

20 Apr 2018 13:17:12
Could you imagine Silva in our team? it'd be just perfect lol we can dream, I agree he's ahead of KDB anyday of the week, he's their engine and keeps them ticking, without him they'd of struggled this season big time.

{Ed001's Note - I expect him to go back to Spain, probably this summer, so we will soon find out. He wants to return home.}

Brilliant article, thanks to all the Ed’s for playing along and Ed01 for putting it together. It’ll replace the PFA awards for sure.

{Ed001's Note - it already has, hasn't it?!?}

Great article Ed. Hilarious in places. And agree with you about Sterling. For the life of me, I could never understand the pundits who also labelled him as much improved. He hasn't changed one bit since leaving LFC. Still runs fast, gets to the opposition box or nearabouts and then shoots it into the stands or out wide. It was crystal clear in their recent game against Spurs.

{Ed001's Note - thank you mate and glad someone else sees it. The lad is just playing with a better team but everything else is the same about him. Of course he will score more as he is being given more chances to score. He still can't strike a ball cleanly. Has the technique of a 5 year old in that regard. Too much time fannying about ball juggling to impress girlies and not enough time learning passing technique. Cruyff would have hated him, he is exactly the kind of player he hated.}

Thanks to all the Ed’s for doing that. I really enjoyed reading that. Is it right Harry Kane claimed captains armband? 🤣
Have a cracking weekend everyone 🌞 suns finally shining here Ed01, nothing like you have no doubt but doesn’t it make you feel better. Happy days.

{Ed001's Note - it brushed his hair so it must be his. Sun? We never get any of that....}

20 Apr 2018 17:14:54
Yeah it'll be a shame to see him leave the league Ed, glad City won't have him anymore but a shame such a player is leaving the league, I love watching him and will continue to do so should he move on to Spain. Whoever they get to replace him won't be enough, he's that good.

16.) 20 Apr 2018
20 Apr 2018 17:24:49
No worries ed!

{Ed001's Note - well anyway thank you for the idea. It was a really good one.}

I have to agree with most of this team but for me I find it sad the lack of English players.
We just don't produce much talent anymore.

20 Apr 2018 19:03:55
Good stuff eds. Agree with the Sterling critique all they way. I try to be unbiased but I just have not seen the great improvement eithers. Stays look better but his shooting ability is still piss poor.

{Ed001's Note - I just think people who say it never really watched him play for us. They just look at his stats and see he scored more and decide that must mean he is playing better.}

I'm surprised that klopp has not even had a shout for manager of the season. Whereas pep has underacheived, Jurgen has over achieved. Taking liverpool to the depths of the ucl and yet again taking is to qualification for next year's ucl.

For me it's Dyche but with klopp second.

Also, people were lining up and patronising me and calling me a fool for saying "I think spurs will finish 5th" and now that looks totally possible, thought?

20 Apr 2018 21:09:40
True Walter, there's not many good English players anymore mate. Very few.

21.) 21 Apr 2018
21 Apr 2018 11:08:25
Silva IS fantastic but he Is totally replaceable. We're talking about city salah, pep just needs to point and the player he wants is theirs. Kdb has been amazing though, some of his touches are simply beautiful.

{Ed001's Note - thanks Seano really glad you enjoyed mate.}
