Not sure if this was discussed before, but just want to know others thoughts on why wasn't the City keeper sent off for pushing Mane so many times?
Think he pushed him with 2 hands about 4 or 5 times.

{Ed0333's Note - because the referee lost control of the situation and bottled it.

Props to Mane for not reacting at all and just standing there, as Ed said the Ref bottled it.

In fairness Mane was the only thing Ederson managed to get his hands on over two legs.

I THINK, it was Ed1 who said yesterday even if it'd of been one push, it's enough to be a red because it's violent conduct. How he got away with it is beyond me, but we was the lucky ones wasn't we? lol City was lucky not to be down to 8-9 men. I agree with Ed333, the ref did bottle it and it's not good enough. We won so I'm happy, even with decisions against us we showed them who's the boss. Boom.

Agreed on Mane, he really handled it well, he could've responded and done the same thing but guaranteed if that'd of happened we'd of seen Mane get a red and Ederson get a slap on the wrist.

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, it was me. By the criteria of the laws of the game, it would count as violent conduct. Though no one would have argued with a yellow for one push, despite that, it is the fact that he continued to do so that makes it a blatant red.}

In that moment I would have been disappointed if the ref gave Ederson a red there. I actually liked how the ref managed the game. he let lots of things go, but was relatively consistent to both teams.

I'm actually glad he didn't get sent off. When city beat us at the start of the season I thought they were the better team and we hid behind the fact Mane was sent off as the only reason we lost. We beat City on tue night with 11 men v 11 and if he had been sent off the City fans and Liverpool haters would have solely put the reason on us qualifying down to the red card.

Agreed Ed1, I had a moment of excitement, automatically assuming he'd be sent off with my son saying ' RED!, It has to be! ' and to see him not get the red disappointed me to say the least, you just don't expect to see such behaviour on a football pitch without consequences, yet it's ok for him to get away with it? I don't get that. If it'd of been Karius doing that to Sterling etc I think it'd of been a red immediately without question.

{Ed001's Note - agreed.}

Mane has been outstanding the last few games - even if not scoring every goal, his work rate, creativity, desire and control has been instrumental to our performances of late.

Am I right in assuming as this was dealt with in the match that no retrospective action can be taken on it?
