I don’t care how good any team is. Without luck they won’t win the Champions League. In both legs we got the luck we haven’t had for so many seasons. Marginal offside calls, disallowed goals, penalty claims and lack of wonder goals against us.

It seems to me that we’ve not had much luck the last few seasons.

It feels that all the overdue luck will edge us the cup.

So so happy today.

{Ed001's Note - were we lucky when Ederson never got sent off early doors? It was nothing to do with luck.}

Sometimes you get luck, other times decisions go both ways. City should have been 10 men or worse most of the game. Sterling got away with the most horrendous dive I've ever seen. I'm still not 100% sure what VVD's card was for. You get luck and marginal decisions all over, and it always seems like the victor got more because they won but the reality is that it's more or less split in most games.

Ed 001 pardon my ignorance but I counted 4 times the keeper pushed mane in a aggressive way is that not a red card offence?

{Ed001's Note - that was my point. It was a 100% red card.}

Ed do you think he should of been sent off for the reaction to Mané?

{Ed001's Note - of course he should have. It was violent conduct and he was trying to start a fight. Mane did really well to not allow himself to be provoked. Ederson was very lucky. One push like that could easily have been a red, but repeating it over and over in such an aggressive manner would have been a red 999 times out of a 1000.}

Can't believe Sterling wasn't sent off for trying to kick Van Dijk in the head, truly a petulant little child. Then the ref booked Van Dijk?!

{Ed001's Note - very good point.}

obviously we had to have that 1 out of 1000 right?

{Ed001's Note - yeah the ref had a shocker though, so it was no surprise.}

Don't forget De Bruyne lads. Persistent diving and cynical fouls. I watched the game back and he should've been booked at least 5 times. Or Fernandinho rugby tackling Mane seconds before Salah scored which was red card too. City could easily have finished with 7 men.

Glad it's not just me who thinks that way Ed, I thought we won the game fair and square, both legs, without 'luck'. We was the better team across the two legs and that's how we are now in the semis. I'd understand people calling us lucky if we scored the 5 goals from the half way line but we didn't we outplayed them especially in the first leg, luck? has nothing to do with it. I think if any team had some luck it was City, they should've had two reds yesterday then we'd of embarrassed them, they should count themselves lucky it was only 2-1.

I think although the referee had a changer of a match, him not stopping the game constantly allowed us to find our rhythm second half so I'm not complaining.

i was actually very impressed by Mane in that situation. if you watch the clip again, the 4th time he's getting pushed he is very close to a reaction, but he manage to stay calm, i would not. He didn't even do anything wrong in that situation.

The best team went through, that’s not luck 👍.

Yeah how Ederson didn't get sent off is beyond me.
Also, hats off to Mane for not exaggerating the pushes (which would have been easy)
Why Mane got a yellow is beyond me too.

it would have been easy for Mane to have gone down, more so after the 4th push,
Mane slipped as he went for the ball, and I thought that there was minimal contact with the defender,
Sterling was trying to provoke a reaction on at least 3 times,
I believe in Football Karma,
both Ederson and Sterling, even De Bruyne was looking for free kicks,
it all came back on them,
I just Love Football .

I'd have been really peeved if I was a City fan, mind you. The officiating was terrible in general but disallowing that goal was crazy stuff. It wasn't even close to Jesus touching it. Almost makes you feel sorry for them. Ha.
