Quick question if any ed (or anyone else) could answer

Read for a while about Klopp not rating Can, or about how he doesn't suit or type of play. Then I read something saying Can has played the second most games since Klopp joined.

I know ya shouldn't take everything ya hear as gospel but it confuses me a little. Is it a case of Can not developing as much as expected or not finding an alternative they like?

If anyone cares i like Can, think he's better when he isn't the deepest in midfield. For me he needs to be more active cuz he takes a few seconds to get going. I think when he is deeper he has too much time and is far slower.

Thanks all.

{Ed001's Note - he plays mostly because of a lack of an alternative.}

Is basically all can wanted is for klopp to say to him you're a starter? Give him that assurances?
I don't see how anyone deserves that, I'm sure Salah knows he's a starter but doesn't need the ego stroke saying your my main man.

Personally I think Can is our best midfielder. He gets criticised for things that other midfielders have a blind eye Turned when they do the same and for me he offers far more attacking and defensively than the rest. He's far from the finished article but when compared to our other midfielders I think he is just ahead.

Thanks for the reply ed01, could we not find someone we like to play there or just that the right deal didn't happen.

Thanks again.

{Ed001's Note - we have Keita coming.}

Ox is our best midfielder at the minute. 👍.

Based on the City Game Ron Ox and Milner were outstanding, however they were outplayed by palaces midfield 4 days earlier and by Utds 2 weeks before that.

Ox has those occasional excellent moments like in the city game and when he went on a run yesterday but he doesn't seem to consistently affect the game.

Henderson is our best midfielder. You can see and feel the difference every time he is not playing. More than any other midfielder in this team.

Think Milner deserves praise.

Well I must see different from you RA. My Can post is simply based on my opinion not fact.

Oxlaide has moments were he looks excellent and affects the game - his big issue is consistency, not only game to game, but minute to minute in matches. He does something excellent, has a 10 minute spell, and then completely disappears. When he is good he looks very, very good but his consistency needs to improve - we need that quality player showing for the full 90 minutes, week in week out, not just half an hour spells every 3 games. Don't get me wrong the lad has been far better than I could have imagined, I just see big potential in him if he can find that consistency.

Seano you could say the exact same for the rest of our midfielders though.

Well, sure Jayden23. But mine is an opinion too (and mine only) . I'm clearly cognizant of the fact that anything I post on this page is purely, and only, my opinion.

I'd have to agree with hampo and say Milner is our second best midfielder. Again it's based on influence on the field when he's playing, the impact he makes and the total team ethic he inspires.

No worries Ra all entitled to our opinions mate. So what exactly does Hendo do that Milner doesn't to put him as our best midfielder and Milner our 2nd.

Jayden I think your point about Ox and Milner being out played against Palace and Utd is a little unfair. Both of those teams caused us problems because they bypassed the midfield with long balls upto a big man who won flick ons.
Nothing to do with us being outplayed in midfield IMO.
