I don't envy you having to watch that game again Ed01. To save yourself a load of time you could have copied and pasted VVD's "He strolled through the game" and just put that comment next to every player.

{Ed001's Note - except for Ings and Solanke, who were trying hard to impress. Not succeeding like, but they were defo trying! It is not often watching Liverpool play feels like a chore, but watching that game again did so. There was just nothing about it to make it worth watching once, let alone twice!}

Ed, thanks for the review.
How would you regard van Dijk's initial months at the club?
I personally think he's been a very good addition in the main, even when factoring in the high outlay. Whether it is largely down to van Dijk, a (much) better goalkeeper, or just a more settled team, we have looked considerably better in defence since he joined our club.

{Ed001's Note - he has been a big step forward from Matip. I don't care about the cost, the only thing that matters is what they do on the pitch. He has made the team better and that is the important thing.}

Ed001 the only good thing about watching the game again is that yesterday performance is because we have a huge Cham e of making the semi’s of the CL!

Too many safe, side passes in the midfield (Henderson one of the biggest offenders) . Thought Wijnaldum played all right in what seemed to be a holding position, but again, ineffective going forward. Everyone goes on about our defence being the weak spot but I think it's the midfield. The defence has actually been much-improved.

If there are few or no options to pass forward, would you rather Henderson turn the ball over. 10 men in the box leaves little room for the forward pass. Stop bashing Henderson for something that's not his fault.

Ed, your last sentence about Solanke is spot on. He has the sense to get in the right position, once his confidence grows, he will put those chances away. I don't understand some of the fans railing on him like they have. He needs time and experience. He has the ability, in my opinion.

Please could it be posted here as well mate once completed? Tyson was my all time favourite, I'd absolutely love to read it. I feel like I know a lot about him but nowhere near 100%, he's another one, excellent boxer, crazy life, there's so much so I wish you the best of luck with that one mate lol.

I agreed with you up until you criticised Henderson for sideways passing. If there is no obvious player to receive a forward pass, what is the point of lumping it forward and giving away possession. All this sideways passing is moving the opposition players around until a forward pass is on.
