massive mental test for us on Wednesday (New zealand time! ) .

I'm with the general consensus about not conceding an Early goal. But on reflection, I think it is more about how we respond to adversity and pressure. we could go down 1-0 at any stage in the game and how we respond in the following 5 or so mins may determine the outcome of the match. Ok, if they go up 1-0 in the 93rd min then probably we are safe lol, but you get my drift!

Confidence, mentality, character all the intangible stuff that we need to get us through will need to be on show on wednesday (New Zealand time! ) .

Totally get with what you're saying Faith and us LFC fans have seen many a defensive collapse with a few of them this season. However since the arrival of VVD and Karius coming in as no 1 we have looked far more organised and settled at the back. I think our best form of defence has always been attack and if we do that on Tue night then I cannot see us not scoring. If we score then it's tie over.

Definitely with you Jayden!

If supporting Liverpool has taught me anything, and thank fully we have been on the winning side more often than not, nothing is over until it is over!

will be great to see VVD in this environment. It's the likes of him who we need to rally the troops if and when the sh*t hits the fan!

Well Man City have to throw everything at us at 3-0 down, full on attack.
We are perfectly suited to a counter attack game, one little mistake from city and the likes of Salah will have a clear run at goal.
I can see goals from both sides, wouldn’t be suprised if it was 4-4 on the night (4-7agg)

The game is just as tricky for city as it is for us.

Do they come out all guns blazing and risk conceding early or do they take a more steady approach ie try and nick one in the first half then turn the screw in the second half.

In all honest the game is set up perfectly for us, bar the 5-0 result we usually have the better of city.

I see city pressing and us getting them on the counter leaving them needing 5 goals.

I think the game will suit us perfectly, they have to come at us and we'll hit them on the break, get our away goal and hopefully this might dent their confidence. I thought it was funny the way Kompany says that Man city fans can be as loud as us, all twenty of them. Have faith and we'll do these semi's here we come.

Man City won’t even fill thier stadium against us let alone be louder than us. Thier home fans will be drowned out by our away fans, probably outnumbered as well lol.

The vital thing for Tuesday is that we don’t collapse if we concede a goal. Even if we went 4 goals down City will still be bricking it in case we get an away goal. In fact, if they did go 4 - 0 down they would probably change their tutu De and make it even more possible for us to get that goal.

Nice one, Mikey. Jayden is correct, btw. Already, the pressure on City before Tues. was huge. Now having lost to Utd in a game that first, had no bus. losing having created 4/ 5 clear chances after they went two up b4 Utd scored, and second, all their flaws were laid bare AGAIN right after we did and third, knowing that you have to literally not concede vs the top scorers in the CL and your Kryptonite, is just unbearable, IMO. All those considered, a goal from us (esp. if we score first) and the tie is dead. It' up to us, lads and I would not have it any other way.

The minute we score one goal, the tie becomes even more difficult for them. I think the home defeat against United is mentally a big deal for them.
