Well now that the dust has settled I think it’s safe to post about last night! Absolutely brilliant performance, there was Liverpool and Klopp at their best in the first half and then a little bit of mourinho and United at their best in the second half which I have envied a bit in the past. Got our emphatic lead and then held it, it’s a game of 180 minutes so I have no problem that we sat back a bit after punishing them with 3 goals in the first 45.

To a man the team were outstanding. I too was a bit worried for taa and in the opening minutes thought my fears were coming thru but he hardly put a foot wrong and whenever he did he recovered so well! Sane has been great this year and he seen plenty of the ball last night but cudnt get anything past taa and Lovren on that side.

Which brings me to Lovren, one of his best games I’ve ever seen him play for the club! Mistake free, so composer, no panic, always stayed on his feet, and read the game so well! Obviously it helps him being beside better players but I thought he shone brightest arguably in the whole team yesterday!

Everyone else was great but I think special mentions should be given to Milner too for his dirty and unselfish work in midfield which can go unnoticed when u score 3 goals against city!

Vitally important now in the second leg to keep it tight for the first half an hour at least, frustrate them again and then when they start to panic a bit and throw more forward hit them on the break and score that goal away which could prove so important!

Any news on salah Ed’s? Have you heard any update I missed?

{Ed002's Note - What news are you expecting on Salah? I expect he is likely still in bed somewhere, resting and that later he and the rest of the players will go to Melwood for a briefing. That is what typically happens after a game. Am I missing something.}

Ok if u want to be like that and assume u don’t know what I’m talking about, perhaps I should have asked what do u reckon on the injury? Did it look like one that could keep him out? Did Klopp or anyone mention anything after the game? Like I said did I miss anything.

{Ed002's Note - Clubs do not make immediate statements about injuries. As I said he will likely still be in bed. If he has an injury that needs attention then someone will take a look later today. If there is any swelling and he needs a scan then that won't happen until the swelling goes down - so it would not be today. The club are pretty good with the press releases covering injured players and if there is anything to say it will be said then. Please don't expect any statements within the hours following the game.}

Ok thank u.

{Ed001's Note - I have explained this over and over, people need to be patient, it is not immediate. For starters, if a scan is needed then it has to wait for swelling to recede, which usually takes around 48 hours.}

There won't be any news immediately on this, after the game Salah is supposed to have said it was fine, just a stretch, but you know what? I think we can actually enjoy this for the moment. Still a lot to do, but we have given ourselves an incredible chance in the second leg which is more than I expected, the first ten minutes I thought City were on top and it would not go our way, but after we rode that out and nullified both Silva and De Bruyne then it changed the complexion of the game. Shame that Henderson won't be available, but if Can is fit and steps up then it will be fine.
