This team has changed so much I am happy with season so far. It is never plain sailing being a Liverpool fan but for the first time since rafa I am optimistic for the future. We are on the up let's enjoy the ride.

One more thing 3 or 4 months ago many people said our priority in the summer was a new gk.

Is it me or has karius really impressed I think he will be a top gk given time.

I know he gave a pen away today but if you was manager in that situation I think I would be more mad if my gk made not attempt to win that ball. He is growing on me.

{Ed0333's Note - Same here mate Karius is seriously growing on me too. Personally I think he’s a season or so from being really good as he has to make mistakes and learn from them. This will take time. The question is do we afford him that time or buy a new keeper who may not adjust straight away and then it’s a case of one step forward and two steps back. I’m inclined to stick with Karius. He knows the system and doesn’t need to be schooled and it will save us a tone of money that can be spent elsewhere.

I've been optimistic since Klopp was confirmed. The results during 2015-16 never bothered me, nor the players.

I've seen a few false dawns but you're right: this feels special like how it did with RB, except better.

Apart from the penalty, Karius had a decent game yesterday.

Have been surprised by Karius’s quick turnaround to the point I would be happy for him to stay No.1. He was always going to be an upgrade on Migs but I wasn’t sure he was the answer but now I feel he deserves at least a full uninterrupted season to prove he should be the long term option. If he can be at his best (which is clearly very good) consistently then it looks like we got a bargain.

I was adamant we needed a new keeper this summer but Karius had done well enough to make me doubt that.

I'm still not convinced he has what it takes to be top class (and I think we need a top class keeper) but if Klopp gives him another season I won't mind.

Karius has raised the bar. (Not literally, that would be cheating)

If we are going to sign a new keeper it needs to be a top class one, not Butland or Navas.

Good thing about yesterday was the penalty hopefully he'll learn from it and it didn't cost us any points, I think the lad is doing fine getting better with each game. It must be hard for him because most of the time he has nothing to do, so he has to turn it on in an instant, might save us a fortune if he keeps it up.

I was adamant we needed a new first choice keeper, but I’m of the opinion that Karius is doing more than enough to convince me that we don’t need to buy a top class first choice. Personally I thought the penalty was a bit harsh, Zaha had already played the ball past Karius and there was no way that he’d have got to the ball to score, it was an unfortunate clash which in my opinion isn’t a foul. Notwithstanding the fact it only occurred because of a defensive error. Literally everything else he did yesterday was spot on.

I don't get it and i don't really see it if im honest. Karius has pulled of one or two descent saves, in my opinion he made a howler coming all the way out to the corner of his box to try and win a ball. Apart from that he made one "holywood" save from a free kick. In most of the other games he hasn't had that much really to do. Standard saves and like i say a couple of descent saves. I think the team as a whole have defended better maybe, restrcting chances but i don't think Katius has been all that! Maybe its just me tho?

He made a great save off his chest when Zaha was through before the pen, I think he's done well since he came back. I'm more concerned about the amount of times TAA let Zaha run off him because Sane is the best in the league at it.

It's not all about saves. He has grown in confidence. has certainly improved his choice of pass at the back when the defence uses him. Gets rid up field with either foot if under pressure now instead of playing about and giving a ball into the corner.
Also can anyone remember being relatively calm when a ball is played into the box? Can't remember ever not expecting our keeper to come out flapping, migs, reina, dudek.

You’re bang on Kloppshop, it’s not all about saves.
A good keeper can stop a goal just by being in the right position because the striker is put off.

His confidence is much better, his agility also looks better and his positioning is better too especially off set pieces.
