Ed25, you going to the Derby in a couple of weeks mate?

Heard someone say your stadium plans have hit a glitch, financial issues? Doesn't sound right to me.

{Ed025's Note - i dont do many games now drogie especially derbies as there are too many idiots (mostly evertonians), we used to go to games together reds and blues in the same car and have a bevvy together after whatever the result, times have changed mate and certainly not for the better..

It is a real shame mate, Derby day used be special.

{Ed025's Note - we were the envy of the country drogie, now we are just the same as the other knuckle draggers who think its more fun to punch someone rather than have good laugh or a discussion about the game mate..

Yeah have noticed that myself over the last few years Ed25,a real shame why do you think this has happened?

{Ed025's Note - because the younger generation are dick heads ace..

We were and not many fans could sit/ stand together on Cup final day ( 86 Fa cup) and sing 🎶 Merseyside🎶 as we did.

Anyway, bed time for me, have a good evening Ed25.

{Ed025's Note - you too mate..

Used to really enjoy the Derbies but over the year's the atmosphere has changed and it's not only the young lads who are bellends I have loads of mates who are just as bitter. Long gone are the days when we would go and watch EFC reserves because we were unable to get into Anfield. My lads are split red and blue, but I haven't poisoned there minds with ill educated bitterness. Rivalry is good but hate is so negative, no need for it. Rant over ed 025.

{Ed025's Note - your right there EVO mate..

Sad times Ed
Always the case for me that if we weren’t going to win the competition- it would always have had to be Everton.
Now you can’t be counted as a “true fan” unless you absolutely hate everyone else.

And I think it’s doing in the smaller clubs.
Tranmere, Chester, Wrexham all would have benefited from EFC and LFC going to watch them if there wasn’t a top-flight home game on in Merseyside.

{Ed025's Note - i have spent many a good friday night at prenton pk in the past agger, there is so much nastiness now that i just dont bother with the derby mate, i remember being a lonely sole in the liverpool end when lineaker scored at wembley and put us in front, draped in blue and not a nasty word said or punch thrown even though i was dancing up and down, rush soon put an end to my celebration but we all ended up in the pub and sang our way home on the train together as one...the younger generation will never know that feeling mate...sadly..

86 fa cup final my fondest memory of a game ever, fantastic atmosphere.

{Ed025's Note - the 2 cup finals were great burkey, not the result of course but the atmosphere and togetherness of the fans was something to behold mate..

I think the players have led the way here tbh. The games are so rough now, I won't be surprised if salah gets injured and Firmino. It's a real shame though.

{Ed0333's Note - come on supersalah keep that glass half full will ya mate.

One of my abiding memories- and one of the funniest- is actually Sheedy flicking the v’s when he scored at the kop end.
He was getting loads- so gave it back. And no-one cared. Now some sensitive idiot who would be singing songs about his mum all day long would be the first to put in a complaint!
And for those of us of a similar generation- the best goal you saw scored at the Annie Road end?

It's a bizarre phenomenon because so many of the lads that behave the worst go quite comfortably to mixed crowds in other sports and behave just fine. Something about the atmosphere of football has just become permissive of it.

It is a real shame ed025.
It makes me wonder though, why have the younger generation become like this? Some of my friends prefer to rip Everton all day rather than enjoy our wins which is so frustrating, it’s why I end up on this website trying to get a decent discussion.
It seems to be happening in all walks of life, people have become worse at communicating, worse at being able to critically think and better at being rude and violent.
In many cases popularity seems to trump facts and truth, that’s the most baffling to me.
