We did a full makeover in midfield.

Coutinio left but we have salah. Can leaves we sign keita. We don't need an overhaul, that is how you disrupt a team.

The Ox came in before Coutinho left.

The midfield doesn't need an overhaul? Our poor midfield is the reason we are 20 points behind City. There are hardly any goals from midfield and very few assists. We can't compete in the league with an average midfield.

Milner or Lallana will leave
Gini is not good enough
The kids that play midfield aren't ready.
Ox can never replace Coutinho.

We will definitely need Keita plus 2 more. One of which will play midfield or cover the front 3.

You can't have the best front 3 in Europe but still be 20 points from the title. It obviously means some of the other players are not upto the job.

{Ed025's Note - no arguments from me mark..

We are getting there Ed with the right additions we could have a very good side. Big summer for Everton as well mate.

{Ed025's Note - you already are a very good side mark, with a quality midfield you can become serious title challengers mate..

Markp08 is right, keita will not be enough if we want to challenge for the title. We need a strong midfielder to replace can's presence while keita brings the energy. A creative left mid would be good too to cover for mane. Jorginho and lemar would be my picks but i won't hold my breath on either coming in. More likely dacoure and possibly draxler maybe, we will see.

Will be a good summer if we can resist selling salah and adding real quality though. If we do end up selling him to real i say give us ronaldo and £50m and he is yours. 😂.

The midfield alone is not the only reason we are 20 points behind City as that is a very myopic argument. Could it be that actually City's blistering performance this season could be the main reason we (and every other club in the top 6) are behind them? Could it be that our inconsitencies in the beginning of the season (where we were off form, not just in midfield) be another amongst many reasons? Just a thought.

As for our midfield, Keita will not be enough and the manager knows that hence, the reason why we are scouting Ndidi and Jorginho (one is likely, not both, IMO) . IMO, Salah is going nowhere as NO club will be able to afford him and btw, WE AIN'T SELLING. Cou has been replaced by changing the way we play to accommodate Ox in midfield and Salah (with him playing nearer to goal) and Mane dropping deep at times, to play the no. 10 role as well as improved the team at CB and GK. More needs to be done in midfield and I trust our manager to do what is best. After all, he's been right so far in near ALL things transfers.

we're c20 points behind because our defence collapsed many times during the first half of the season. sice vvd came in we have more or less kept up with city and even beaten them, you don't do that with an average midfield. They may not get many assists but that is because our wingers are considered to be forwards, the game has changed. if the wingers were midfielders, the midfield would have tonnes of assists. and its not like they don't get any. the ox must have what 4/ 5 in a couple of months.

KDB seems to get plenty assists Super. More than our 6 midfielders put together.

Take your point on the defense it is getting better.

Klopp messed up last summers transfers so let's hope he has learn't his lessons.

Funny, it really looked like when that gap to city developed a pair of CB's that bought the worst out of each other and a goalkeeper who let in every other shot (that's not a figure of speech, he literally has one save for every goal conceded) looked like the main reason we were losing points - the midfield dominated, the attack was cutting but the opposition had 2 shots in a game and they both went right to the back of the net.

Memory is a funny thing isn't it?
