To me there's no debate to this but it'll be interesting to hear others thoughts.

Who did you prefer, Fowler or Dalglish? I loved both of them and they remain my top 2 players I've ever seen play for Liverpool (Firmino and Salah are getting there) .

The reason I ask is because somebody I recently spoke to said Fowler was the best out of the two. As much as I loved Fowler, it's Dalglish by a mile for me. He was the most complete Liverpool player I have ever seen.

On another note, how painful is this, waiting for the next game? it's doing my head in lol.

Fowler by a mile its just a shame he wasn't in a great team like Kenny was.
Don't get me wrong Kenny has done so much for the club and the city but I think he is vastly over rated as a player.

Dalglish, as great a player Fowler was.

Kenny Dalglish all day long. An utter genius on the pitch and the best player to play with a liverbird on his chest. Id put digger ahead of Fowler too although Robbie was a phenom.

Dalglish had that thing, that 3 steps in front in his head thing, just so intelligent as a player, Fowler was the ultimate striker for me and one of the best i've ever seen, of the two Dalglish was the better overall player but Fowler was just unplayable on his day
As for overrated Walter go and wash ya mouth out! Lol.

Fowler was great but its Kenny by a mile. Fowler isn't second or even third. Let's be honest, what did Robbie win? An fa cup maybe, a league cup. Gerrard was better than Robbie but played in a better team. Fowler in our 2005 team would have been pretty special (Robbie in prime) I don't mean to sound harsh, I loved Fowler, proper loved him but I've never heard him being seriously compared with Kenny Dalglish.

Overall the King trumps them all. The player, the man indivisible and surely Liverpool’s finest ever. Fowler was superb, and judging by the Legend’s goals, still is. Kenny, Digger, Souness and Rush. You can fight over the others! We have enjoyed so many good players - savour them all.

Not of an age to have seen Kenny play but can appreciate the player he was and what he has done in and around the club, hillsbrough alone means the man will always be a legend. But fowler was my idol as a kid and a huge part in why I support Liverpool today so he edges it for me, just.

The King.

Over-rated? 😄.

No one saying Gerrard, its not a popularity contest. Steven Gerrard is the best player anyone under 35 has seen in a red shirt. End of.

Negativewalter Dalglish over-rated give your head a wobble he had the lot vision ability strength and class and his medal haul proves it for me. Without a doubt the greatest to pull on a red shirt.

Kenny overrated?! The most positive thing I can say about that is you've got a reaction!
He was the best player in a team that dominated Europe over a number of years. try and name players of a similar vain.?

Fowler the most natural finisher I have ever seen play a game of football, firmino does the no look finish from 8 -10 yards fowler could do that from 25 yards.
For me tho impossible to say different eras, different pitches and different players fowler was a number 9 kenny was a number 7.
Both absolute legends and loved by the club and fans, couldn't say anything bad about either YNWA.

Not comparable in my view. Different players altogether.

I remember Kenny curling a left footer into the top corner from the corner of the penalty box. A fella standing next to me said, ‘ Kenny Dalglish - he’d bring a tear to a glass eye. Says everything you need to know about the King.

Good to see so many replies of different opinions regarding the King and the God debate.

I actually feel for those who never got to see the likes of Kenny etc playing, some of you are too young for that and it's a shame you never saw him play because he was incredible and most importantly an absolute gent, what a man, what a player and what a legend he was/ is.

Out of respect for such icons in football only one man comes above Dalglish for me and it's Johan Cruyff. Debatable I know, there's that many legends of the game. Not so many these day's though, not in my opinion. Call me daft, call me what you want, the game has changed and money took over, players these days (or a lot of them, not all) aren't as passionate anymore, passion created legends.

Speaking of whom Ed1, how is the legend article of Cruyff coming on mate lol 10% done yet? ha ha! there's that much to his life he must be the hardest out of all the legends on your list there is to write about. Really looking forward to it though mate.

Have a good day to all!

{Ed001's Note - it is insane, I started putting my notes in order about 3 days ago, I thought it would only take a few hours, I still haven't finished! It is going to be by far the longest article I have done on here, going to have to chat with Ed033 to see if it would be best to break it up into pages when it is done.}

I can only imagine Ed1 mate. I can't wait to read it but I understand these things take time, especially this one lol I'm trying to think right now, there's tons of legends who have interesting (to say the least) careers but I can't think of one quite as interesting as Cruyff?

{Ed001's Note - nor me. There are a lot of things I never knew that I have learnt doing this, as I only really knew he was a great player who invented the Cruyff turn and that one of the first things FSG did after buying Liverpool was to approach him to be DoF at the club. Instead we ended up with Inspector Clouseau!}

I know what you mean Ed mate, I have read plenty about him but I don't think I know half of what there is to know. Hope you have a good day mate, I have a hell of a long one ahead of me!

{Ed001's Note - long day mate? Anything interesting?}

Unfortunately not Ed1 mate, got a long day at work have to work until 10pm all week so won't be back home until about 11pm, hard work considering I've had less then 4 hours sleep lol but we do what we have to do I suppose :) I'm just used to been home on the evening relaxing so it's a bit of a pain in the backside lol.

{Ed001's Note - ah ok unlucky mate. Hopefully the money will make up for it at the end of the week!}

Hopefully Ed mate, the sooner I get another job the better lol need out of this place BUT it's a job, I can't moan really, but we all like a good moan I suppose :) hope you have a great day Ed1!

{Ed001's Note - have a good moan, make a few jokes about it and then you will get through it much more easily.}
