Nice to see Can being desperate to stay as Liverpool only wants to be highest paid player at our club. I always thought he was more in interested in progression than money? I would like him to stay but know he will leave and I hope we don't regret him leaving?

I'd love to see Can stay but he is nowhere near deserving enough to be our highest paid player. We have messed up in the past with regards to wages (Milner being paid more than most and Sturridge on double that of other players despite hardly being fit or selected) . For me your best / most important player should be your highest earners and as much as I like Can he is nowhere near being either.

Belfast kop, being reported by the mirror, I'm always amazed people are so quick to believe that tag, who get nothing right,

Milner had no transfer fee so was well paid return. Talking salaries is never helpful or accurate.

To replace Can will cost 30/ 50 mill in today's market + wages so getting him to stay on a improved contract would make sense financialy, wether I'd want that is another matter.

Matip was also a free transfer but we don't pay him a kings ransom every week.
{Ed025's Note - i wouldn,t pay him in washers jayden..

I'm over this whole Can nonsense already. We have been hearing about this since the summer and STILL, there is nothing concrete. I applaud Can for playing his heart out at LFC and keeping his focus BUT he now needs to stop talking in the media and just play football.

As it stands players I think are more important and this should be paid more than Can - Bobby, Mane, Salah, Hendo, VVD, Keita (Incoming) Lallana and arguably AOC. No chance in hell he's getting 200k a week and if he/ his team thinks that’s what he’s worth then I’m afraid he needs a reality check.
