Hi Reds,
With Martial apparently up for sale in the summer I would definitely consider buying the young lad.
He's quick, good finisher, wonderful technique and can definitely fit in any of our front three places.
Thoughts?

we don't do business with man utd so that's that, another player who Maureen has no patience with, could you imagine how rashford, martial and shaw would have got on under klopp?

Not for me. Average player with pace and a hard shot.

Also doesn't work anywhere near hard enough. He hung Luke Shaw out to dry the other night. Laziest forward I've seen in the prem since Balotelli.

I understand the rivalry between us and United but at the end of the day I would put my emotions out of it and bag a huge talent like Martial who's basically being wasted and I would imagine he's already desperate to leave the club.
In my opinion the guy could easily do 15 league goals in a club which play to his strengths.

I'm with you on that MK, he's not good enough for us and never will be, certainly not a player who has ever even come close to impressing me.

We have youngsters capable of more then him, youngsters more hungry to succeed, more passionate about the club then he would ever be, one to definitely leave alone.

Not really about emotions. United simply won’t deal with us and there’s simply no chance of it happening. Martial is only 22 and I agree he has potential to be a very good player. But we should forget any chance of him realising that potential at Liverpool. Thankfully, he won’t realise that potential under Mourinho either.

Man instead of buying Martial better play Woodburn, Wilson, Solanke, Brewster, etc. Too much talent.

Martyial a good finisher? When did that ever happen cos I missed it, clearly. He's been at Utd for the 4th season now and has NOT improved one iota. Martial would not make our bench currently and he is NOTHING like Salah or Mane or even Ox out wide. He is lazy, poor on the ball, a one trick pony and frankly, not good enough. And again, why would we want a player Mou wants shot of? Sorry, we will not be buying Utd's dross anytime soon. Shoot, we don't even want their supposedly "good" players.

{Ed001's Note - do you not think he is a good finisher then? I think that is his big asset, he is very composed and a goalscorer. It is his touch and technique I think is the problem.}

Are you planning to bench Mane for him then? Doubt he'll join us to be Mane's back up. Can't play across the forward positions either as he's ineffective on the right and isn't intelligent enough to play the Firmino role as back up. We have a far better player for the role already at the club in Mane and I'd rather give Woodburn and Wilson their chances before paying big bucks for Martial.

why is this even being discussed? No Mancs allowed!

We'd have to buy him from his next club as we don't trade players with his current club directly 😉.

I will take Rashford though!

I think he is a very good and talented footballer under the wrong manager but there is zip chance of him arriving at LFC.

They should be begging us for our players, not us, them.

He ain't a bad player, of course not and he would no doubt improve under klopp but like Kenny said, we don't do business with them so it's all academic.

He could leave utd then join us from his next club but I doubt it very highly, by the time he has fulfilled another contract he will be what? 26. A little north of the usual age of our recruitment.

BRover, Mourinho also didn't want Salah and De Bruyne, remind me again how that worked out? I think Martial is a terrific player who would thrive under Klopp, however he wouldn't get in our first 11 right now and would also impeded the progress of the likes of Woodburn, Brewster and Wilson.

Takes me back to when rafa wanted Gabriel heinze. If I'm not mistaken old whisky nose went to a tribunal to block us from buying him. he was ***** anyway!

I don’t think we’ll sign him but I’d say he’d be interested.

Ed, I just don't think he is any better than the guys we have now who actually score more goals, have better touch and technique and are more versatile than Martial is. I just don't think he is any better than our boys, that's all.

Smeg, I disagree. I know Mou is poison to young players BUT that does not remove from the fact that Martial is not good enough to start for us as that is what he would be coming here to do where he to come, something you have agreed to in your post. We are making almost the same point.

I never really liked martial that much, he has talent but I just never thought he was that good. If we are buying that sort of player I'd rather us target Zaha, that said i have the chat with my brother today. Wouldn't buy anyone for the front 3, they are too good together!

He’ll succeed at ManU or leave the premier league IMO.

Is he better than lemar then? I would have thought lemar or draxler is higher up the priority list than martial who united would never sell to us anyway. Pointless discussion.
