There was two of them in it. Why should one be severely punished and the other walk away into the sunset?

He was having a bit of banter Geri, what's wrong with that? it doesn't mean his daughter had to be spat at.

It’s a decision for SkyTV easiest way to protest is to cancel subscription.

Carragher should be sacked. Undoubtedly.
The guy in the car, driving while using a mobile phone.

Sorry Sis, but I have to disagree. I don't get this modern obsession with spitting. It's just saliva. This is a generation who will do some seriously disturbing things for a sexual thrill, but cry like babies when someone spits at them?

I was listening to the radio this morning and Alan Brazil says we can't condone spitting. Then 5 minutes later he says Chelsea should just take Messi out tonight! Like, what?!

So we live in a world were injuring someone deliberately to gain an advantage is okay, but spitting gets you tried at the Hague for war crimes! It's a Minor offence for me. I'd rather stamp out violence, racism and homophobia before we start making a meal out of spit!

You want to try growing up in the country! I've had a horse sneeze into my mouth so a bit of human spit on my car window is almost a welcome change! 😂

I'd rather charge the Muppet who was holding his phone whilst driving along a dual carriageway, with his daughter in the car.

if say gary neville had done the same thing, what would we be saying, as it stands, Gary gave Carra his support, Carra has done a great job on sly sports,
but cos it was such a vile act, I am not sure if he should keep his job, it should be a sackable offence anywhere .

If it was me or you driving along side Salah, Mr. Hughes he wouldn't have batted an eyelid. Carragher shouldn't have reacted the way he did but Hughes aim was to get some reaction hence recording it on his phone. Claiming provacation has got many a person of out of more serious things than that. Storm in a teacup in my opinion.

What Carragher did is disgusting but I don’t think it’s worthy of a sacking, a suspension for the rest of the season seems like an appropriate punishment to me. He has apologized multiple times and taken full responsibility for what happened. I’m not saying this from some Liverpool bias but from a human perspective, I would be saying the same thing if it was Gary Neville or Thierry Henry.

Have to agree MK. He didn't even realise the girl was there, and how long before the video was taken was this guy pursuing him for? Because he's famous, let's harass him because he'll get sacked if he retaliates. Really cannot condone the spitting, but the guy was more interested in the act than if his daughter is ok. He was stupid but he certainly didn't spit AT the girl, just at the car of the yob following and giving him grief.

The guy in the car should get 6 points and a fine for using his phone while driving.
Carra should be sacked with immediate effect.

There ya go sorted. 👍.

Humans make mistakes and Carra has not hid one bit since the incident, he knows exactly what he has done, this modern obsession with sacking people for committing a single, redeemable act of idiocy is nothing short of a witch hunt, it is simply another case of people picking and choosing their arguments. My response would be exactly the same if it was Gary Neville.

Ask yourselves, would you sack Salah if he had been caught in the same circumstances? Or why is it that people continue to subscribe to Sky Sports, despite having the same owners as the S*n and many other vile newspapers?

Too many knee jerk reactions in this world, everything has turned into a PR game whereby every corporation and individual is trying their absolute best to appear as inoffensive, squeaky clean and PC as the next. Carra is human. Give it a rest.

I disagree, MK and anyone trying to "explain" this crap away I am appalled that you would even defend such disgusting behavior. Who the heck spit cares. Worse, If anyone spat in my face, close to me in my direction the same way Carra did (the most disgusting way you could demean a human being, IMO), he would have gotten his skull cracked, end of.

Don't care what he was told, he is a grown man and should act like one and he did not and he deserved to have lost his job, period. Sky like the cowards they are, showed a lot of "bravery" in this and should be applauded, LOL.

Absolutely right rhing to do. Get him out, give him a chance to work on himself and rebuild. If he does all that, comes back and does it again then ye sack him. Perfect I rekon. Amd the thing is ya'll will forgrt about him next week but Carra will still carry the shame to seasons end. Hopefully they give him something constructive for the reparation in this time.

It’s a sackable offence in any job in the world except football punditry it seems.
Can’t belive anyone is defending it, if any of you lot did it regardless of the circumstances you would be sacked 100%.

So apparently spitting is a sackable offence, what else is? Drunk driving? Infidelity? Not picking up your dogs poo? Where does the self righteous draw the line?

{Ed025's Note - i cant believe the apologists on here he should 100% be sacked, as a tv personality he has a responsibility as a role model to youngsters and what he did breached everything morally decent in every shape or form, i cant believe the "its just saliva" remark by MK as i though he was better than that, there is a line and carra crossed it and even though im a fan of his what he did was the lowest of the low for me, i know hes an ex red and i get the tinted glasses thing but come on guys...give your heads a wobble..

mikey, if I spat on someone at work I would be sacked yes, if I did it on my own time I’m don’t think I would be sacked. Carragher wasn’t working at the time, unless his job is also Sky Sports chauffeur.

{Ed002's Note - He has a responsibility and what he did was entirely unacceptable. I suspect those of you making pitiful attempts at defending him would not do so if it were Ryan Giggs or John Terry.}
