Amazing how mourinho was a genius 3 days ago but now he is out of touch and falling behind as he was once a revolutionary.
We all need to take into perspective that our loss to the mancs was 1 game. It happens. We are a much better TEAM than they are and im so glad we don't have that arrogant little (insert your own words here) in charge of our great club.

Love your enthusiasm, Mark, but in what way are we a much better team? they've beaten us one v one and lie ahead in the league table. We play more attractive footy but the results don't suggest we are superior.

I know this is a banter site but still why are we so keen on what Mourinho does or united let's focus on ourself and ourself only.

How about we don’t both playing any opposition either crazy horse. They are our biggest rivals and they were awful tonight - just enjoy it mate.

The table doesn't tell the truth until all 38 games have been played. United still have to play Man City at the Etihad and Arsenal who they always seem to draw 0-0 against. Couple that with a few potential banana skins such as the in form Swansea at the Liberty and Bournemouth who have had a few big results against Chelsea and Arsenal, and we still have every chance of over taking United. We are the only team in the league to have played all of the top 3 twice. We've also played Arsenal twice, Burnley twice, Swansea twice, Newcastle twice etc. Most of the common banana skins who have knocked points off the top clubs. Chelsea is our only game left that shouldn't be an easy win on paper, but as we all know there are no easy games in this league. It's a 38 game season and there are 8 games left. We have the easiest run in by far.

So currently, the table does lie. Until the fixtures balance themselves out, you Can't say United are better than us because they are 5 points ahead. In fact, just make that 2 points now because City will murder them at the Etihad.

MK, that was the attitude before they beat us this weekend and look what happened. Whilst they're above us there is no reasonable argument that we're ahead of them. If we do overtake them then we can gloat then but doing it now makes us look very foolish.

I'd rather wait till the season ends before saying who's better than who. Let the final BPL table do the talking. Klopp and his men should concentrate on winning every game and us fans should be behind them every game. What is meant to happen will happen.

7.) 14 Mar 2018
14 Mar 2018 07:38:21
Whats your point, MK? That we might be better than them at the end of the season? We haven't managed to beat them in either attempt this season. Look at the table right now and you will see there are two teams currently better than us.

“The table doesn't tell the truth until all 38 games have been played”. Correct MK 👍

MK’s point is until all teams have played each other home and away you can’t really judge the league table. ManU are 5 points ahead, in 3 games time they could be 4 points behind. 🤝.

It all goes on the City result for me, if they win it or even get a point I think they will get second but I don't think they'll get anything at all against them and I can't see them winning every single other game either so for me right now it's about who wants it more, if we push hard we can do it.

We have 24 points to play for and I believe we will have enough to beat the majority of our remaining opponents, Chelsea and Everton are the tricky ones but should we get 4 points out of them two, we'll be in a good position I think.

My opinion? we'll get 2nd.

14 Mar 2018 08:49:49
Liverpool have also difficult games coming up MK. You post makes no sense to me. You use Arsenal as a reference as a team United have to play then you say we are the only team to play all the top 3 teams. Do you not think Chelsea might be trying to get into the top 4? Do you not think United will have extra motivation not to lose to City? Will Everton and Palace not be trying equally as hard as Bournemouth and Swansea? Add to that the points advantage United already have. I don't think the league table does tell lies at all.

Spot on Ron. 5 days ago, everyone I saw on here was quite comfortable saying we were the second best team in the league after Man City. It is desperately fickle to step back from that position because of one result.

I still believe we will finish second. If I'm wrong, then clearly we weren't the second best team this season. I look through our remaining fixtures though and we are playing:
10th Watford
18th Palace
9th Everton
12th Bournemouth
20th West Brom
19th Stoke
5th Chelsea
11th Brighton

Surely we are allowed to be confident heading into those 8 games? Complacent? No. But confident? Yes.

We've played every team in the top 8 except Chelsea for the last time this season. United play:
16th West Ham
14th Swansea
1st Man City
20th West Brom
12th Bournemouth
6th Arsenal
11th Brighton
10th Watford

So we have all 3 teams in the bottom 3 and only 1 in the top 6. United have 1 team from the bottom 3 and 2 from the top 6. That looks like plenty of room for a 5 point swing in 8 games, in my opinion. I'm not prepared to give it up. I'll happily back us to win the Champions League too against all the odds.

Klopp once asked us all to turn from doubters to believers. Are we losing faith already?

Everton away isn’t a difficult game? Behave, we’ve some tricky ties ahead of us and a derby and Chelsea away are right at the top of that list. You e just listed utd games and pretty much half of them are in the bottom half of the table. Yes they’ve tough games too but football isn’t played in paper and I’d prefer people not to be dismissive of games, and certainly not stating Chelsea is our only tough game.

13.) 14 Mar 2018
14 Mar 2018 11:29:54
Hopeful, where have i been dismissive? I clearly stated that "Chelsea is our only game left that shouldn't be an easy win on paper, but as we all know there are no easy games in this league. "

For me, we should be destroying Everton home or away. They are a shocking side with no good defenders, their best midfielder is 19, and their star forwards are Walcott and Rooney (last time I checked It's not 2012). Derby or not, on paper we should win which is all I have said. Last time they caught us on the new manager bounce and Klopp made changes because it was in the hectic Xmas period, and they still had to cheat to get a draw.

All I'm saying is that people are giving up on 2nd place way too easily considering our two main rivals are a potentially Kane-less Spurs (who still have to play Man City) and Man United who are inconsistent at best. They lose to Newcastle, draw against Sevilla, scrape past Palace, need the referee to bail them out against Liverpool, then lose 2-1 at OT to Sevilla who they all thought they'd demolish. That is 2 fortunate wins, 2 insipid defeats and a goaless draw in 5 matches. Carry on like that and they'll drop more than enough points for us to over take them. I actually think they'll get worse still, as the fans will turn on Jose after last night and I can see Jose prioritising the FA cup because no trophies could cost him his job.

I am fully aware that we still have to be focused for all of our remaining games in order to finish 2nd, but I am just pointing out that our chances are not as dead as everyone is saying. It was one game. There is no need for the mass depression and loss of hope.

Come on lads, don't give up! Have a bit of confidence. I'm not asking you to believe we'll win 8/ 8 and City will lose 8/ 8 to hand us the title! Just to believe that we can still be the best of the rest and go on a good run in the league and in Europe.

With the derby sandwiched in between the quarter final games. I know you’re trying to be optimistic but it feels like counting chickens to me and I hate it when people tempt fate. There were people coming on here saying we’d smash Utd etc etc, the one big thing you can say about Liverpool is they have a propensity for blowing opportunities.

MK, it's not about us losing the faith, it's about unrealistic rhetoric, the way you speak is completely out of touch with what's actually happening. Utd have just beaten us and over the last 8 games they've accrued more points than we have but apparently over the next 8 were likely to get 6 more than they will? No, it's not likely.

I'm hoping we reel them in and it will be awesome if we do but let's not pretend the situation is something it's not. We're not brilliant, utd aren't awful. Utd haven't lucked their way to 2nd, they're a good team and a loss to Sevilla doesn't change that.

Why can't everyone just forget about United?

Don't get me wrong, I hate them as much as anyone but some people are so negative and bordering on obsessed.

If someone, in August, had told me that we'd be fighting (realistically) for second in the league and in the CL quarter finals and have a pretty much fully fit squad in March I'd have been pleased with that.

There are so many positives about this club at the moment, the players (frightening front 3, getting better defensively, Migs gone, full of youth etc. ), the management (Klopp and his men are passionate and have a plan), the owners (have shown they will spend big and expand the ground) .

Why do we have to focus on the negatives so much?

Bring on Watford on Saturday and look forward to the excitement of the CL draw. Get behind the team and stop moaning.

Oh and Utd lost to Seville ;oP.

No one's wallowing in pity, stop being so dramatic. We all want second and we all hope it will happen, none of us will give up whilst there's a chance. The issue is the silly rhetoric that we're something we're not, it makes us look like a laughing stock.

21.) 14 Mar 2018

It makes us look like a laughing stock when we back our team to finish 2nd and then change our minds after 1 bad game.

At least I'm consistent! I'm not suggesting we are something we're not. All I'm saying is I believe we will finish 2nd. It is mathematically possible, and a reasonable suggestion so I don't see your problem. You think it is a silly rhetoric to say Man City will beat Man United at the Etihad, and that in the other 7 games we can pull off an almighty 2 point swing? Seriously? I can't have that. It is a totally reasonable prediction and I expected better from you than to belittle other peoples opinions. You're not far off my favourite poster.
