I think Klopp may have been done by Mourinho's 'mind games' on Saturday. Mourinho coming out and saying it was 'just another game', Klopp was complacent.

He told his players to go out and play their game, assuming they would win, whereas Mourinho had Utd fired right up and, let's be honest, very well drilled. To the point that they took their eyes off the prize tonight. But he got his priorities wrong.

With the benefit of hindsight, beating us was Utd's biggest game of the season. And what have they got to play for now?

I would rather to have lost to them in the league than the CL final!

One final point though- for all the slagging of 'Stoke with money' etc (sorry Stoke! ) - if it wasn't for Pep's genius and Citeh's oil wealth - Utd would still be top of the league. let's keep things in perspective LFC fans and not count our chickens before they hatch.

{Ed0333's Note - I get your point I’d rather finish 4th and win the Champions League.

But we haven't won the CL. and its still mighty far away, not to mention very tough.
Though all LFC fans believe all teams would be dreading to draw us, i feel other teams would be wanting to draw us just because we are inexperienced at these stages of this competition. We are the only team in the competition that have the ability to shoot themselves in the foot and loose even when we are 2 goals up. I mean i remember people panicking on this site when we won 5-0 to Porto and still weren't confident playing a second string team. All other team bar Roma have been there and done that. We are joining a completely new level and its not going to be easy.

I'd definitely would have loved us beating United and being more pragmatic in our football approach.
As for Klopp he has top start winning these mini battles with tactics. He mostly is found out when the game becomes a tactical battle and is not a straight forward execution of his gameplans.
He has to learn to be more pragmatic inside the 90 mins when his team cannot perform its usual demolition job. Read what's happening in the game and sort it inside the 90 mins.

I disagree with the original post, Klopp is not affected by mind games. We lost the game because of fine margins. ManU took their chances, we didn’t. We could easily have had 2 pens. That’s football, there’s no point in trying to look for something which isn’t there.
