What's people's thoughts on possibility of Suso being resigned?

For me I'd wish we kept him anyway and would take him back.

We should never of got rid of him, I can't ever see him returning to us, unfortunately.

I never wanted him sold, but he plays on the right wing. Not sure he'd want to leave Milan where he is a star player, to basically play second fiddle to Salah. Unless we put him back into midfield, but he's never played there at senior level. I'd genuinely consider him if Salah were to move on, but I'd rather we kept Salah if I'm honest!

I don't think Suso will ever be back sadly. It's mad to think we let him leave for virtually nothing and he's now worth about £50m.

It was such a horrendous decision letting him go. And everyone apart from the powers-that-be at Liverpool knew it!

To be fair MK every players value has shot up and, whilst he probably would cost around 50mil, that's more indicative of the market than him - if the market was as it was a year ago he'd probably be about a 30mil player: still ludicrous we let him leave on a free though!

Don't get me wrong I was a big fan of the lad and was very disappointed we let him go, always thought he has a touch of class about him. It's very difficult to see where he would fit in with our current system and way of playing - as you suggest MK midfield would likely be the best bet though he hasn't played there for seasons - I would be very surprised if we did make a move for him as I think, as much as I like him, he just wouldn't suit us at this time.

Let's not revisit "the committee" and their decisions. Water under the bridge, now.

Has a release clause of 40 million €, considering the sum we sold him to AC Milan for (1 million €) it would look bad buying him back for 40 times that, but in the current market he is priced very well. I would take Suso back, he is more of a number 10 than a winger anyway.

Fair point on the market Seano. It's a huge shame to see another club reaping the rewards of a player we developed!

Personally, I thought Suso was more talented than Sterling at the time. People complained he wasn’t strong enough for the Premiership but I thought he always got stuck in and would have developed physically as he got older.

I think he was stifled at Anfield when in the u23s, or whatever the reserves were at that time, by the far less talented Tom Ince, who wanted to take everything (free kicks, corners, penalties etc) and was allowed to do so by the coaching staff.

A massive mistake letting him go, as it was obvious how talented he was. A big coup for us to get him at the time ahead of the Spanish giants and I think that Kenny was used by Rafa to persuade him to sign for us.

Where do you get all this new Messiah thing from?
The lad played a handful of first team matches, showed some nice touches but nothing special at all.
Not mobile enough, not quick enough.
A poor man's Joe Allen.
Let it go.

{Ed001's Note - you really are making yourself look an idiot. Suso has played 81 times for Milan, not a handful. It is idiotic comments like yours show a complete lack of anything but wilful ignorance. Sometimes it is better to keep your mouth shut when you are only going to make a complete arse of yourself with moronic comments calling him a 'poor man's Joe Allen'. What a pointless and idiotic comment. You have just made a comment even Leek would consider stupid, well done, that takes some doing.}

Fantastic player, I'd love him to come back. Who sold him for gods sake.

I think Suso was sold primarily because of how football talent is perceived nowadays with a much higher emphasis on the physical aspects (speed) rather than the technical ability of a player. Suso was always far more technical than say his contemporary Sterling who was a speedster (with not much of an end product in his time with us) . Granted speed is a plus for a forward and that's why Sterling got to where he got, but Suso was more of a technical AM. And with Coutinho, Luis Alberto, Texeira and Dani Pacheco around at the time, vying for the same position, the "committe" made a decision to cash out on a player who wasn't breaking speed records and wasn't going to be better than Coutinho. In retrospect, the club could have kept him, but was he ready to stick around for 3 years and wait for Coutinho to leave the club? Would there be as many calls to buy him back if Coutinho was still around?

He played a handful of times for Liverpool, some of which I saw in the flesh.
And I called it at the time.
To hear people speak of Suso, was to imagine that we were letting go George Best.
Everyone has their favourites and Suso was obviously one of yours.
Not mine however, I called it then and still think the same now.

Sterling and Suso are chalk and cheese. They're both creative attacking players but they have different styles entirely.

Sterling is a speedster, but that isn't all he has. His first touch, ability to shield the ball, ability to beat a man, close control, and finishing is all better than Suso's. He creates by using his pace to get away from players and then lay on a simple pass to a team mate in a better shooting position.

Suso though, has a better striking technique which allows him to score a broader range of goals, create from deeper, take set pieces, and even deliver good crosses into the area. He was also positionally more intelligent and more regularly made the right decisions in terms of when and to where to pass.

Both very good players, both with different skillsets. Shame we lost them both because of Rodgers. He couldn't see how good Suso was at all, and he was wasting Sterling as a lone striker or a right wing back (embarrassing when you really think about that! ) .

40 times more than we sold him for, but at least we wouldn't be doing a Pogba.

Would he ever have gotten the chance to play the amount of first team football he required though? I can't seem to remember him having a run of games. Good on the lad for getting the move and being successful I say. Our loss, but you can't win them all.
