Hey, I was just wondering if people knew whether football fans dress up in fancy dress for any games. Went to darts the weekend and saw it. cricket do too and Hartlepool are known for it. Just wondering if Anfield ever had smurfs or stormtroopers or any top flight team had an entire section of supporters all dress up for a cause?

I know of one definitely who dresses as a manager.
Got himself in loads of places by impersonating a top-flight coach.

Last seen at Goodison.

The best sport for fancy dress is rugby 7s. It's the most chilled day with a beer and it's just a great laugh.

I thought some clubs do it for Boxing Day. Norwich maybe?

Closest you’ll get is around Christmas and all the Santa hats.
Darts is like a party atmosphere and cricket is an all day slog so you have to do something to make it interesting.

Football is over in 95 mins. 👍.

I was wondering about this for footy fans, but imagine that most of the time it is too cold! would be nice to see a see of red at anfield one day, but again warm jackets tend to be dark these days aye!? on another note, the dress-up tends to be for those novel sporting events. rugby 7s etc was a hit in wellington, new Zealand for years and people dressed up in all sorts.

I was at a cricket match and there was a group of Ritchie Benaud's who all had inflatable microphones. I was standing behind one in line at the bar during the day and struck up a conversation. Every time he spoke to me, he spoke into the microphone and then pointed the mic at me for my response. When I queried why he was doing that, he said if he gets caught not using his mic, he has to shout every "Ritchie" a beer - there were about 50 of them, so I had to go along with it for his sake! very good dressing up - adds a new dimension!

Haha thanks for the information. I work for a fancy dress company and am looking to raise money for charity through sales. I was wondering if anyone had contact information for the lfc foundation team running the legends game. Want to offer cost price plus 10% with the 10% going to the charity for the legends game. That way fans get costumes really cheap compared to usual and we raise money for charity too! If anyone had any details please let me know so I can contact them as soon as possible.
