Basically, start getting into a different sport because football has 10 years left (max) before it becomes unwatchable 😂 England Rugby beat Wales 12-6 yesterday and apparently they win the Six Nations regularly. It was a great game. First Rugby game i've ever watched from start to finish. Very enjoyable. My local team, Northampton Saints, are supposedly a decent set of chaps.

I might go full "private-school" and see if i can catch a game of cricket or lacrosse, today!

Mk, i work at a private school in buckingham stowe school, and get to see quite a bit of lacrosse and cricket and trust me i wouldn't bother mate. Great if you need a nap! Stick with rugby least its a bit lively. 18stone men running about battering eachother for 80 minutes what's not to like. And nothing but total respect for the ref! Saints not doing so well this season try watching leicester tigers if you get time. A proper side!

I was brought up in your neck of woods then mk, grew watching saints and played for old northamptonians. You should try watching American football, the northants team starting up again.

Leicester are my next most local team so maybe they're a better bet then Lfcleeboy. I'll take your advice on the other two sports though! I used to work in Buckingham for the big automotive firm opposite Tesco.

Grew up here? What on earth made you leave Northamptonshire Lifelongred? it's so wonderful! 😂.

If it’s rugby you want stick to League. At least the rules are understandable! Rather less Range Rovers and still a pint and a pie for the supporters. And there’s a St Helens link already.

'Basically, start getting into a different sport because football has 10 years left (max) ' - I've been trying not to get involved with the talk about this stupid league thing, but my god are you right. This stupid idea will ruin the game massively.

{Ed002's Note - For who? How?}

Had no choice to leave, grew up in Weston favel area, dad was a photographer for local and London papers, used to get to go to all the games as a kid and meet the players, he tried his hardest to get me to support his boy good team arsenal, his first job was at their ground but loved watching Liverpool the most, he got a job up north in Yorkshire and in fortunately we all made the move.
My dad's back in northampton now but I've settled up here with own family, go down now and then but it's changed so much. You from Milton Keynes? Used to go up there to the point cinema when I was a kid, actually did an American football display there when necessary roughness film came out. God I'm old!

For me because I wouldn't be able to travel to the majority of the games, like it isn't bad enough now? and it's not just me which is my point, it's the majority of fans, the minority can afford such luxuries, the majority of us are normal working people who simply can't afford it even today never mind in a european league, especially those who have families. I want to take my kids to games I can't why? because the prices are ridiculous, I could go on holiday for a week cheaper, they'll only increase with this so called league.

So there's going to be all these football games with how many fans actually there? It'll be a failure. Just my opinion of course.

{Ed002's Note - everyone keeps telling me about all of these Liverpool fans all over the world - perhaps that isn’t true. Distances European club fans travel are already much more than the English Supporters - who do seemingly struggle with driving, getting on trains or planes, communicating in anything other than English, eating anything other than fried chocolate and chips etc., etc.. Perhaps the Liverpool fans are best of out of it. I assume there have been no Liverpool fans making the journey to any of the three away games so far this season in the Champions League, and of course there will be none at the Porto game or the one after that?

ED2 I hardly doubt the average Liverpool fan will be able to afford consistent pan European trips weekly/ bi-weekly, home tickets right now are already massively high and I really don't see them going down, but as you say Liverpool won't be involved so let's talk about the game instead, which Liverpool are involved in against Southampton.

{Ed002's Note - So what about thios massive world-wide fan base the Liverpool fans keep going on about? Perhaps the Barcelona-based Liverpool fan club could pop along to the Camp Nou and sit in all of those empty seats? Bring the game to the wider Liverpool "family"?}

You do make a good point Ed2, I appreciate your opinion.
