New poster after following the site for ages now, love it by the way guys!

A Question for ED01- I'm interested on your opinion of Micky Thomas as a player. I remember watching him put away that winner in '89 as an 8 year old, first football heart break.

He obviously went on to spend 7 years at the club and featured in the 'Spice Boys' era. I was young
and mainly interested in Fowler, so to be honest didn't notice what he brought to the side.

Keep up the good work.

{Ed001's Note - Thomas shunned the limelight, I only really remember him as very quiet and shy as I was never able to forgive him for that goal. Each time I heard his name announced or saw him play, I just saw that goal again in my head. Shame because he did genuinely give his all every time he played.}

He scored a brilliant goal in the 92 FA Cup final.

That made me laugh
And then cry.
Mickey Thomas for me isn’t the player who scored late for arsenal and then scored in the FA Cup final for us.

It’s the little welsh dude who had black curly hair and knocked Arsenal out of the FA cup with a stunning free kick for Wrexham.

Feeling old.

He hadn’t had curly hair for ages but was on the Welsh football scene for a long time and I think still is. Did a stretch for being involved with forged currency which led to very funny fake fivers circulating labelled ‘Bank of Micky Thomas’. Michael Thomas was always Michael Thomas and a good player. Nice guy too.

For me, I started to accept Michael Thomas in that cup run in 92. He scored the winning goal against Villa and, from then on, despite not being a guaranteed starter, was always reliable and ready to give his all for the cause. Good pro in my opinion.
