Great read, Ed. I agree with you that the game got away from us when Can came off and Milner came on and he was dreadful. I don't know what he offerred BUT none of it was protection for the back 4 which was what Can provided superbly all game. Also, I agree with you on Karius. Yes, he made a mistake BUT that was a wicked shot from Sane, I must admit. What a missile. He did deal with crosses better and his distribution was much better. He just has to get better in crucial situations. Like you, I prefer him in goal any day over Migs and now, it is up to him now to take his chance.

As for the defenders, I thought as a group, they played very well and Gomez did a job on Sane all game bar the goal and Robbo gave Sterling the business as well. Matip played much better and so did Lovren (who I prefer next to VVD, btw) BUT in crucial moments, they were not there near the end BUT I attribute that to mental fatigue cos our boys looked knackered.

Fernandinho as you said, was a liability all game. The guy was slow to everything and second to every ball. He along with his piss poor CB's in Otamendi and Stones, were terrified each time they had the ball cos they are not used to being relentlessly pressed. Klopp played a blinder and credit to him and his players who showed determination, audacity and bravery and as we say, fortune only favors the brave.

{Ed001's Note - thank you mate, I have never understood why no one has sat a forward on Fernandinho's shoulder to harry him. He hates it when people are tight to him and gets wound up.}

Great review ed. Agree with Robertson he was brilliant yesterday, definitely spurned on by the fans booing Sterling and cheering every time he lost the ball. You mentioned the ox’s conduct in interviews, he really comes across well he sounds like a captain in the ones that I’ve seen so far.
Excellent game to watch, thoroughly enjoyed the 1st 85mins!

{Ed001's Note - I have to say that the Ox is very much coming across like a captain in interviews.}
